What kind of ornament makes us beautiful before Jesus and before the men? (Part 4).
Therefore, considering that the true beauty come from our innermost:
• “Let not he being deceived trust in vanity; for vanity shall be his reward.” (Job 15:31)
Physical beauty is futile and impermanent:
• “The voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the beauty of it is as the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the Spirit of Jehovah blows on it; surely the people is grass. The grass withers, the flower fades; but the Word of our God shall stand forever.” (Isa 40:6).
• “Man born of woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower, and withers; he also flees as a shadow, and does not stand.” (Job 14:1,2).
• “who do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a vapor, which appears for a little time, and then disappears.” (Jas 4:14).
Hence John to say:
• “Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.” (1Jn 2:15-17).
It's not in vain that Paul advised the women:
• “Let the aged women likewise be in reverent behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved by much wine, teachers of good; that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.” (Titus 2:3-5).
After all:
• “Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Jehovah, she shall be praised.” (Pro 31:30)
So, have a good week adorning your thoughts and feelings with all Jesus’ wish for you and people around you. After all, vanity only bring us harm:
• “He who tills his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he who follows vanities lacks heart.” (Pro 12:11).
• “He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he pursuing vanities shall have poverty enough.” (Pro 28:19).
