Job 26:
10. "He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters
At the boundary of light and darkness.
11. "The pillars of heaven tremble
And are amazed at His rebuke.
12. "He quieted the sea with His power,
And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.
13. "By His breath the heavens are cleared;
His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.
These four verses are directly attributed to the Babylonian and Ugarit creation myth were either Marduk (Babylonian) or Ba'l Haddu (Ugarit) defeats the sea god Yamm's (in Ugaritic and Hebrew) monster Rahab (in Ugarit AKA the fleeing serpent, the Straight Serpent, the Seven Headed Serpent). In the Babylonian version, the monster is Tiamat, the goddess wife of Abzu the god of death.
Actually, it is the publishers that want the money. The authors of scientific papers published in journals are not paid. I try to limit the citations I give to books that you could get from the library, or professional journals with liberal access policies. Some papers are too significant to not mention, even if it might take more than Google to read them.
For example, the American Association for the Advancement of Science has published "Science" magazine since the 1800s. After a free registration, you can read every single issue for free for any year short of the current one. So, on January 1, 2015 you have access to everything I do on the AAAS website. Science
Then there is the Public Library of Science, which is free to the public: PLOS ONE : accelerating the publication of peer-reviewed science
They are increasing their collection of top rate science.
The US National Academy of Science publishes the "Proceedings" under the same access policy as AAAS: Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences
Nature magazine is a bit tight with access- even if you subscribe. But they have started a public access service: Scitable | Learn Science at Nature
Individual scholars regularly provide a PDF copy to anyone who asks (even if they don't like you).

Question.....Traditionally it is held that Job was written circa 16th century B.C based upon the fact that Job is the one preforming the priestly duties for his family and one other reason which I honestly cannot think of off of the top of my head right now....It seems when it come to this story as posted by you and the one testified of in Job has a foundation and or roots in astronomy......if I remember right the story is told in the stars or the law of the stars and Job makes numerous references to the constellations and the 12 signs of the Zodiac as found in Job 38:31-33...Mazzaroth being the 12 signs....Having said that, I believe (personally) that the stars and the 12 signs of the Zodiac tell the story of the fall and redemption of humanity as well as the heavenly battle between good and evil, but that it has been corrupted dia astrology and Akkad/Babylonian diviners amongst others....Just my view. Hence the similarities between the two as noted by you in your statement of comparison.
I forgot to ask the question and my 5 minute time limit ran out hah.....Is it not possible that the similarities between the two accounts as well as the accounts of other ancient cultures be due to the fact that the stars teach one central thought and or line of truth, but it has been corrupted down through the ages by astrology as opposed to astronomy?
In fact, the ancient carvings (I think in Mesopotamia, and some hyeroglyphics in Egypt too, I looked into that long ago) have demonstrated that zodiac did not originally begin with Aries. And I can well guess who switched it and messed with it.
The zodiac actually starts with Virgo and ends with Leo.
From the seed born of virgin to the victorious Lion of Judah.......... God put the Gospel into the stars also.
Even the 13th sign, Ophiuchus, is nothing else but the brazen serpent lifted up in the wilderness by Moses, aka the Son of Man lifted up.

Rabbi Slifkin is an Orthodox Jew who has made several very interesting studies of early biblical texts.
Yeah I agree as I studied this a while ago and it has been a while but I do remember studying the aspects of the stars, signs and Zodiac and always knew that the story was written in the heavens.....It is awesome how the stars teach the fall and redemption of man as well as the battle betwixt good and evil.....I guess I missed it about the 13th sign and or have forgotten it.....cool and thanks....!

When the original names are restored, their meanings put together tell the prophecy of Christ... and you knew in your spirit what was the TRUTH! That's how I found it too... I suspected the same!

No doubt.....I never could get past Genesis and the Sun, Moon and STARS being made for SIGNS, SEASONS, days and years....Stars being plural and God being able to use them to teach many things....I love it and have been drawn to the stars from a young age...like at maybe 11 I built a solar model and entered a science fair competition and was hooked HAHA

Not to mention that when ever they find and ancient culture of humans that existed they almost always find out that they determined things they did by studying the stars, which is where some of them have even come up with most of their prophecies for future events.

Well I openly confess ignorance of rocks other than a granite top in the kitchen and sandstone so that is why I put the rock statement.....No I didn't notify anyone...I did think about it as it is in a stream bed that leads into Norfork Lake on the North side just outside Mountain Home Arkansas and know exactly where it is...Most of the time it is under like 10 feet of water and I found it in an extreme drought when scouting for deer season like 4 or 5 years ago....it was actually pretty cool and I was pleasantly surprised I had found it....I live on a creek in Missouri now and we find stuff every now and then like my neighbor found a fossilized bird that looks like a duck in rock about a foot and a half in diameter....I was going to go back and take pictures and I almost called the college located in Mountain Home to see if they had a geologist/archeologist but just never took the time.....Yeah I know I should have, but I didn't.....about 25 meters worth of tracks...looked exactly like small deer prints and cat prints between the size of a bob cat which I have trapped over the years of trapping and like maybe a cougar possibly.
