What or who are hindering you of glorify the Creator?
• Zephaniah 3:10 -> “From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.”
In the time of Zephaniah, the Creator primised that Israel’s people who were faithful to him (and who were to beyond the Ethiopia when Assiria invaded Israel and ousted the Israelites) would worship Him. However, for this to happen, it was necessary the destruction of Ethiopia. Hence:
• Zephaniah 2:12 -> “Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.”.
And the reason can be seen below:
• Isaiah 20:5,6 -> “ And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory. And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?”.
Israel’s people trust very much in the powers of this world (see Ps 20:7). It was necessary the destruction of the potentates of this world so that Israel could come back to the Creator.
And what about us? What is necessary for us to trust in Jesus? What or who needs to be obliterated so that we can glorify the Creator and have Him for unique Lord, Savior and Treasure? Why do we have so difficulty to believe that the Creator can sustain us (as Jesus promised in Mat 6:33)?
Why do we pray to Jesus so that He gives us mammon to pay our bills if we can’t serve two Lords (Mat 6:24)? Wouldn’t be more reasonable to seek out His kingdom and justice where He promised to provide all our needs pursuant the richness of His glory (Phil 4:19) acting in us (Eph 3:20) and, thus, we could enjoy the true life and piety (2Peter 1:3)?
So, have a nice day living by faith in Jesus and His promises. Let no people intimate to you need to die so that you can deliver yourself outright to Jesus. On the contrary: may people who is died in their sins live in virtue of your compromise with Jesus. Worship and cling only on Jesus.
