What people are clapping their hand at you for?
Many times we run into people that are puckish, pesky or pugnacious and, in fact, this is a great nuisance. Nevertheless, before we do anything, let’s mull over: why this is working up my acrimony? Let’s not bolster some evil thought. Let’s work through all this kinks praying and meditating on the Holy Scripture.
The truth is that, if some scurrilous word works up our fierceness, it’s a signal that something is truth. Likely our consciousness is telling us off:
There is no point crying out against these rowdies. This only exacerbate the handicaps. This situation cries for crying out to Jesus with all our heart:
Let’s not to stumble in the Cornerstone (Matthew 11.6; 1Peter 2.5-8)! The truth can be tough, but it’s the only way for us being free (John 8.32). It’s obvious that we ache for seeing people clapping their hand at us as an airing of approbation. Nonetheless, remember that people do this to the false prophets (Luke 6.26).
In short: if people hiss and wag their heads at you (showing chiding), take advantage of this to ask Jesus to fathom your heart and try you, in order that He can get you free from the sin and you can inherit boons, the privilege of being used by Him to rescue people from Ha-Satan and, finally, the salvation.
Do this and you will be free to experience the genuine peace of Christ (John 14.27) that is sufficient powerful keep you elated even amidst great tribulation (see Act 16.22-31):
Be this *rejoicing* our rejoicing today and forever.
- “All who pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city which they called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?” (Lamentation 2.15).
