Love, love, love this song. The lyrics. And even the video.

All fear, all pain, all hurt, all grief, all lies, must bow to Jesus' Name.
All kings, all thrones, everything that breathes life, must bow to Jesus' Name.
The Earth, the sea, the sun, the stars, the sky, must bow to Jesus' Name.
The Earth, the sea, the sun, the stars, the sky, must bow to Jesus' Name.

Hallelujah

All fear, all pain, all hurt, all grief, all lies, must bow to Jesus' Name.
All kings, all thrones, everything that breathes life, must bow to Jesus' Name.
The Earth, the sea, the sun, the stars, the sky, must bow to Jesus' Name.
The Earth, the sea, the sun, the stars, the sky, must bow to Jesus' Name.

Hallelujah

Kings, crowns, thrones: bow down!
Fall face down: bow down!
Kiss the ground: bow down!
Jesus, you hold the crown. Bow down!

Having battled a lot of depression, particularly around the time this song came out, i always identified with the feelings it seems to convey.

Time has had it's way with me.
My broken tired hands cant build a thing.
The wires that have held me still embedded now in flesh to find my will.
The idle of my days is won, the empty I have fed has made me numb,
Despite what you will find in me.

The failures of my past just swirl beneath.

[Pre-chorus:]
I need a heart that carries on through the pain
When the walls start collapsing again.
Give me a soul that never ceases to follow,
Despite the infection within

[Chorus:]
Our careless feet leaving trails
Neverminding the fragile dirt we all end in.
Our careless feet leaving trails
Neverminding the fragile dirt we all end in.

This is where I find my fall the cares that held me alive don't work at all.
And every step away from here is closer to the plague I hold so dear.

I need a heart that carries on through the pain,
When the walls start collapsing again.
Give me a soul that never ceases to follow despite the infection within

Awaiting my end breathing in the day that finds me new.
Redemption begins bleeding out the flaws in place of you.
Awaiting my end breathing in the day that finds me new.
Redemption begins Redemption Begins.

As a teen i heard this song and thought 'one day i want to use that song for the woman i marry'. Just over a year ago i met a woman i fell crazy in love with. I knew i wanted to marry her. We talked about marriage often. I had been thinking of somehow using this song in or sometime around the proposal. I had wanted to share this song with her so badly sooner than that, but i i kept it from her so it would be a surprise. Until November hit and she ended things suddenly.
We are still friends. Best friends in fact and i've gone to visit her a few times since Nov. I've spent most of the time trying to win her back, with no success. I decided that if i wasn't going to get to use the song in a proposal i wanted her to hear the song so she would know how i felt, as i felt this song conveyed things i wasn't good at saying myself.
So i put this video together. I don't have much experience making such things, so it was a lot of work, but i made it happen. Sadly it got almost zero reaction from her. But since she will always hold a piece of my heart, and this song is now forever connected with her in my mind, it touches me, both with happiness and sadness.

Always makes me think of Patty Griffin's song by the same name :)

I always found this song quite poignant; it helped me to grieve the loss of a loved one in 1992.
