how am i subposed to know what God wants me to do with my life? i feel like i'm just wasting it. i read the Bible and stuff, but i still feel meaningless. help!

i was feeling the same way... i had no type of vision for my life...
so around jan. i started praying for a vision because i came across the scripture... without a vison the people perish...
and just last week... God gave it to me.... he showed me outreach...
the only reason why it took so long is because i fell off... i wasnt reading fasting and praying like i should have been... but as soon as He pulled me back in he showed me...
so just be encoraged to keep striving in the things of God snd He'll show you what he wants to to do....

I love you with the love of Christ

Well I can relate........I've been praying for like 10 years for God to show me what He wants me to do and I still feel lost! I got through college and I'm teaching now, so I guess this is God's will, but I really don't like it much and I'm hoping there's something better out there. Who knows.......maybe the whole reason God didn't reveal it back then is because He knew I would feel discouraged that it wasn't something I really wanted.

I am sitting right there with you. I pray every night for God to show me what it is I am suppose to do in my life? What roll am I to play in my church, community, what am I suppose to be when I grow up (lol)? Don't get discouraged he will reveal it when the time is right.
With his love and blessings.

Dear sisters:

I understand your doubts and questions. But i believe God gave talents for everyoneto use for His Glory and Kingdom. Now i am not sure if you referring to a full time service or just small things on a daily basis...Jesus only started his ministry at 33 years old right???so don't feel discouraged.
You have to see what are your talents and gifts. There are things we tend to do easily and with happiness. You can also ask your pastors if there is anything you can do for the church.I was praying for many months because i have been a teacher until now, but i felt God had something new for me, and i am now in process to go Serve Him full time in a diferent area...keep praying and ask advice from your spiritual leaders...hope this helped!
God bless you

read "the signature of God" the book will blast your faith to a new level as it gives amazing fact after fact, from prophesies to archaeological evidence supporting the sound doctrine of the Most High. At which point you will have the faith necessary to have the Holy Spirit guide you through to the end. Good luck, and God bless.

In Sunday School we read the book Chasing Daylight. It's about discovering your purpose in life, and I thought it was pretty good. Basically it says that it's better to move than to stand still. Even if you're going in the wrong direction, as long as you're moving, trying to do something good and glorifying God, he'll steer you to where you need to be. The book uses the story of Jonathan as an example (1 Samuel 14).

Jonathan's father King Saul was nervous to go into battle against the Philistines because they were vastly outnumbered. Jonathan knew that God was behind them, so he and his armor bearer set out for the Philistine camp alone. He said, "It may be that the Lord will work for us, for nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few." He didn't know if God would keep him alive or not, but he knew that the Philistines wouldn't be beaten if the battle wasn't fought.

My advice to you is this - move forward. Do charity, volunteer at church, evangelize to friends, family and coworkers. Even if it seems small, it will get the momentum going. Once you start moving God will put you where he wants you.
