So I have this one friend, I guess you could call him my best friend, I love this boy, he's the only person I've ever met that has opened my mind to things that I never even knew about before. No other person I've ever met has ever taught me about the same things as he has. He's educated, he's read more books than most people have watched DVD's. But he's not a true believer, he says he believes in something, some creator, but not everything that it says in the bible.
He says that he believes some of the things in the bible but not all the bible says. He says that he believes Jesus was a real person. But he doesn't believe that he was born from a virgin. I've explained to him that he had to be, so that he wouldn't inherit mankind's sin (being born from God). And then take all of mankind's sins and nail them to the cross with his body.
But he says he doesn't believe that. That it couldn't be possible that a woman could become pregnant without copulating with a man. So this is confusing to me - he believes in a higher power. A "creator" if you will. And that God could exist, but he doesn't believe that Mary gave birth to a man without being planted with a seed first in the traditional way.
Basically, he believes there is a God, but he doesn't believe that Jesus was born from the virgin Mary. He believes that Jesus was crucified, but he doesn't believe that he was raised up from the dead after 3 days.
I want to reach this guys mind, and heart, please give me the words to say to him, without trying to shove it down his throat you know? Because that's not me, I don't like to do that you know?
I just like to plant seeds, let God provide the sun and the rain it needs to grow.
Thanks!
