At the time it might not be what we would have chosen, but it can be character forming and God-glorifying.

I was thinking about this verse recently, also.

This is why some Christians display badges, Christian jewelry, etc., because they long to get into conversation with others about the Lord. (In the end it's the inward and spiritual aspects of the person that speak the loudest, I think.)

I personally wear nothing in that respect, just trust God to bring up the subject and draw others and trust to say what is needed to say as well as hear what is needed to be heard
 
Matthew 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
 
I do wear a small cross pendant on a thin chain around my neck, a gift from my husband after I was saved. I pray each day that God will shine through me and others will see that, not just the cross around my neck. I want people to see my happiness and ask me about it. I want them to recognize the glow I feel inside for what it is, the love and peace of Christ, so I can share this love and peace with them and give glory to our Lord through witnessing to them.
