If a lady or gentleman is interested in you what do you think is the best way for them to convey that to you?
Mmm.... I prefer the friends first approach.
I like for them to be around me with my people. Get to know me as my friends know me and hang around her and her people. I want them to see me as human, with responsibilities and Laundry, just like everyone else. Then we can start putting our best feet forward.
Lunch this weekend sounds too official. Like that Coffee date I accidentally found myself on last week.

I was speaking as if you all already knew each other a bit.
but see coffee isnt really a date though... is it???
and how did you accidentally find yourself on one??? This i wanna hear![]()
"For me its body language. She just has to seem inviting."
Like this? Right? Wrong?
Oh... well if I know the person and I am still going to date them, then its probably going to be a long term relationship.
OK, so this girl has been dying to get coffee with me for like 3 weeks. But I've been busy and kinda blowing her off. I eventually caved and was like ok.
I had never hung out with her for any period of time longer than 20 minutes at a concert we both went to. So she got there and we made small talk about coffee and work stuff. Then she ordered a small sandwich and started talking about how long its been since she's dated anyone or been in a relationship.
I was reaching for the Eject Button when she started to get misty about how all the guys she's ever dated were only into her for sex and how there aren't any good guys out there any more.
So... I didn't want to be one of those heartless mean guys who leave her crying into her chicken salad sandwich. So I sat and listened over coffee, for like 3 hours.
The killer part was when we left she followed me to me car and then had this look of expectation. I was like thinking uh oh, wait, NOOO was this a DATE!? ugh... I hate myself right now =( "bye" and drove away.
I told myself, "I am going to need to be busy for a long time." It also made me think I don't really have a good excuse for being single right now either, so I can't blame her for trying.
Thats disturbing... What the crap is she doing ordering a chicken salad sandwich from a coffee place!
She sounds desperate.
I think she is desperate (which is really hot btw) but, I invited her to our Sunday night "Small Group" which has a Load of single guys. I want her to be a part of our group but, I think its awkward for her.
Sorry! I just posted a statement, but had missed the original question. Going back I see that the question was by Julia in regards to how would I like somebody to let me know that they are interested in getting to know me. I prefer an honest approach, and appreciate alady that is a bit reserved, yet not so shy that she cannot express herself. Feeling comfortable and confident are important, but gettting to no someone is a learning and giving experience.
