With todays terrible sorrow filled loss of so many beautiful children , the parents and their loved ones.
Many are asking why or how could God let this happen?
Ive heard it asked many times on the news, in the places I went today.

Many scriptures have run through my head, but mostly, not ones as to why.
The words from the bible that filled my thoughts, were ones of comfort, of protection and of Gods great love for us.

So when it comes to answering why?
MY answer is?
There never will be any reason, never an excuse , no understanding as to why that will be enough to comfort the soul.

We know only that, the theif comes to steal, kill and destroy!

For comfort does not come from understanding why.
Comfort comes from knowing that God Our Father carries this understanding for us, loves us all, so much so He sent His son Jesus, to suffer the cross, so we may have eternal life, free from every evil, every sorrow and every pain.
That forgiving frees us from the chains of our sorrow.
That Jesus knows and suffered all pain known, for us and with us.
That Jesus is close to those that morn.

I trully believe that the answer why, does not bring comfort, but only more grief , anger and hate.
That the answer is not about why, but who overcame all evil for us.
That forgiveness is the key to healing.
And it is the comforting words spoken in scripture, that are the answer, the balm, and God's hand that wipes away our sorrow and tears.

"For God will wipe every tear from their eyes, there will be no more sorrow or pain."

So, I will answer it is not about the why, but the love of God , Jesus that will bring the comfort and peace needed and sought.

Please share what you might say, and more so, what word given in scripture, that brings comfort.

Thankyou Father for wiping away my tears, and in Jesus , the comfort of your healing love.
Thankyou for welcoming these little ones into your loving arms.

pickles, that was beautiful. I've officiated at many funerals after tragedies and the only scriptures that really comfort are those that simply confirm that Jesus loves us and has gone to prepare a place for us to be with Him for all eternity.

This situation is beyond anything we can do to comfort at this time. We can only pray for the familes of those that lost their lives and find rest and assurance in the love of God, the Father, the grace of Jesus, His son, and the comfort of the Holy Sprit.
 
God isn't to blame. People are.

If someone is sick, heal em.

Hungry? Feed em.

No point in saying 'God, feed these kids', when we have cupboards full of mince pies.

And God has plenty of mince pies ready for people to eat!

All different flavours and colours.

Some strawberry jam and onion ones just to make a point.

One day we'll all be eating God's mince pies and tasting all sorts of things we never knew.

And at the end of it, the greedy will no longer have a need for greed. The hungry will be filled. And the blind will eat for sight.

So to speak ....

Yum. Mince pies.

God builds and restores.
 
One of my most loved scriptures when I am saddened and weary of the sorrowful things of the world.

For God sent a plentiful rain to fall upon a dry land, renewing His covenant when it was weary.

We have reward, because motivated free will does exist. Evil has reward as well. Part of the reward of evil is to kill, steal, and destroy, and that means that we will suffer as long as evil is present with us, because that's part of their reward, to watch us suffer. This reward of watching us suffer is no reward in our eyes, but it is in theirs, and evil also gets to have their reward, but us suffering is temporary, and our reward is greater in heaven when we do.

So the answer is that evil gets their reward, which is partly to watch us suffer.
 
The one constant, the one perfect, no matter how great the sorrow, or how senceless evil may be.
Is that we all by faith know, that God is Our God!
