what's up with Harold Camping?

hello people!
i was just wandering why Harold Camping would claim that the world would end last week. If God said that he told nobody when the world would end why would he say that he knows the date? it doesn't make sense. can y'all explain the strange behavior of this man?
 
Unfortunatly there is no explaination for why people choose to do this. Maybe he is searching for attention that he is not aware of, like he wants to be the first to do or say something. Maybe he is truely excited to go home and like all of us wanted to know what was in the gift before its time to open it. It doesnt really have any reason that makes much sense as to why he would truely do this, nor has he said so I dont think he really knows. But something that we should all remember is the true meanings and teachings in the Bible.
Mr. Camping is not a prophet, nor has he shown to be. His beleif of the world ending did not come from God telling Mr. Camping, but from Mr. Camping making his own interpretation of the Bible. The day that we all get to go home will be one Glorious Day!!! But someone predicting based on calculations is not how we will know...we never will. We just need to know he will being coming to take us home and knowing that brings me peace and smiles :)

He is 89 and looking to go to heaven, I guess he wanted Jesus to come to him instead of having to die first. But maybe it will still happen.

Also he seems like the whole hidden code in the bible way of thinking.
 
maybe he just wanted to be remembered or be a hero or have the need to make his life worth something so he fid a pattern in the bible convinced himself it was this show the world convice them etc etc

Harold Camping believes that the 7 days which Noah had to get all the animals and all his family into the ark before the flood represented the time God will allow for everyone to get into the universal ark (the church). He believes 7 days represents 7,000 years because somewhere it says that to God 1 day is as a thousand years, then he used the old calendar and the current year (based on Jesus' birth) and calculated when the 7,000 years would end. I dont know how he got the month and day but he figured that it is exactly 7,000 years from the time of the flood.
 
Or maybe its just as simple as he's a false prophet. You know, the kind the bible says will arise & that would should take note of & avoid.
 
At best he's a confused old man with access to a microphone and a world wide audience. If that's the case, it's time to take the mic away from grandpa. At worst he's a false prophet, greedy preacher and should be umm..errmm..yeah.
