Hey, I'm a fairly new Christian. Let me explain first. I grew up in a Catholic-Freemason home. Before I go any further, I just want to say that I am not sure how things operate around here (which is why I have contacted the upper staff about my beliefs, to see if may post on this forum.)
In the meantime here is my testimony...
I would not say that my mother and father are devout Catholics or Freemasons. I am not even sure if they still hold to all of the mystery and lore, but something about family heritage just gets me riled up.
There is so much mystery and lore in this world. I have come into contact with some pretty mean-spirited individuals (before I got saved).
You know, you sort of go around thinking that everyone has very High Expectations of ya - and so, you strive to see the best in everyone.
One disappointment leads to the next, and sooner than you can realize it, you start to see all the colours of the rainbow.
Of course, there is no pot of gold at the end.
I sort of - spent my younger days engaging in double talk, being ashamed about Jesus and lead astray. I know many young folk go through the same. And even after they become saved they still seem to backslide and fall into temptation.
I was saved at a very young age (10), but that did not protect me from the perils of the world. Even the closest "Christian" friends I had lead me astray. (Later on I would find out that they were not even saved, but back-slidden and very deceptive.)
But I was taught wrong. Instead of sticking it out, I walked away from the Christians I had met in my youth. They may have turned their backs on the Lord, but a valuable lesson in this Christian walk is to always forgive and take the initiative.
I had to make some pretty tough decisions before signing this contract with Jesus.
1. Am I willing to go all the way?
2. Am I willing to face the facts about the people I hold most dear to me?
3. Am I willing to let go of the things of the world?
There are three things that most people hold very close in this life (1) family, (2) friends and (3) fancy things. In order to follow Christ, you have to let go of all those things.
1 - Our family is Spiritual, not biological (this does not mean that we shurk off the responsibilities of having a biological family - it is still our duty to look after our family, but we must not worship them, or teach them to worship us).
2 - Our friends are also spiritual and not of this world.
3 - And if you love your life you will lose it.
The biggest bummer for me (at the time) was having to confront all my family and friends about their beliefs and make a stand for Christ. This meant confronting all the Catholics, Freemason, Atheists, Agnostics and even Witches.
That was a perplexing time. I was a bit confused. Kind of guilt-tripped by a lot of them, but I stood strong.
You see, Catholicism is not a movement of Christianity. Catholicism is the world's version of Christianity. Freemasonry is the world's version of Protestantism (protestantism was a major movement of Christianity). Atheism is stupid (according to the Proverbs - the Bible says that "the fool says in his heart that there is no God"). Agnosticism is not as stupid as Atheism - but it's still pretty dumb. And Witch-craft is bad news. Magick Religions are bad news.
On my path to Jesus, I got attacked by a serious Witch Doctor. She sent hordes of demons from hell after me. Being young in the faith, and knowing nothing about the Spirit of God or Deliverance, Healing and Prayer - I got a serious beating.
I could spend hours discussing some of my visions in detail, but I see that there is not much use. Paul advices against trying to describe the heavenlies. My best guess is that it encourages young believers to be given up to much thought about the HOST OF HEAVEN. Jesus is the Lord of Hosts. And Israel was always given over to worshiping the Host of Heaven.
Madam B. destroyed hundreds of our Christian Movements through Spiritualism. (I learned about this while researching Mystery Religions - this lady spent her entire life devoted to destroying the Church.)
Eventually I started asking myself (and the Lord), "Where do I draw the line between Double-Speak and actually telling the truth?"
Do you know what I mean?
There is someone that you have known for donkey's years. Gradually, you have watched them turn into a monsters. For fear of loosing that bond, you have held back your witness and testimony in Christ. You know that this has made you into a very weak Christian, but you treasure your friendship. You treasure - that friendship.
So where do we as Christians draw the line?
Difficult Question.
After witnessing to quite a number of my ah... "friends", I ended up having... not so many friends (after all) lol, but it was worth it.
That was then. And THIS is now.
The big Q, I think, is:
How do we keep our witness, as Christians, strong in the workplace.
Do you know what I mean? Do you know what I am saying? Because that is where I am at.
For the first time, in a long time, I am actually keeping the faith in the workplace. I have dealt with some pretty heavy flack. One guy (with half his teeth bashed out - I wonder why) has shoved and pushed me in front of other people in the workplace. Instead of knocking him out (and making myself into a fool), I went to the guy and invited him to Church. Of course, I ended up implying that he was a violent psychopath who needs Jesus (lol), but hey... the guy was getting physical with me.
Now the realities of the workplace.
1. We all know that people like to experiment in School and College, but that work is an entirely different ball game. People curse and swear a whole lot more. People are very fickle, have this shark mentality and... the hanky-panky business is out of this world. People watch porn at work, and even share each others... ah... wives. All the topics at work seem to have something to do with the three-letter S word. But I mean, a lot of the things that happen in the workplace should be private, should stay in the home and should just never crop up as the constant-major topic at work. If I sound like a prude, let me just re - fff - raze... Swapping (you know what)... and watching HIGHLY explicit movies. This kind of behaviour almost always ends up in Resignation, getting fired or even getting ... murdered. The Bible is rife with practical examples. School and College are pretty bad, but the workplace seems to be where all the worst scandals culminate. [THE SIN IS TOTALLY AMPLIFIED]
2. Christianity, in the workplace, is viewed as something that MAY be talked about. It is fine, but every other religion and philosophy must not merely be TOLERATED, but also given a higher importance than Christianity. I have seen it over and over. Christianity is always undermined. Our principles, laws and culture is insulted by many, many people. The moment a Christian enters into discussion about Jesus (our God, our King) we are given... how can I say? ... about a 30 second gap to talk... You are not given the space to talk about the truths about Jesus (He is King, He is Salvation to the world, He is God, He is the only way to heaven). Or if you are, well, you're mighty fortunate. [JESUS IS TOLERATED, BUT UNDERMINED]
3. Anti-Semiticism, Women Controlling the world, Men are slaves, Sodomy, Drunkenness and Polygamous Relationships always --- always, seem to be at the heart of what people are trying to say. Christians are viewed as extremely strange for showing disapproval. You are branded as a goodie-two-shoes or self-righteous if you don't let your guard down in these areas. I have talked extensively with some people on why I believe men still have a place in society, and why I think giving into weakness is just another way of saying you don't want to be responsible, you don't want to be accountable, you don't want to grow up, and you don't care how your back-slidden heart destroys those around you.
If I may, you will like always find this trait in really like psychotic people: they think that us Christians are too scared to take hold of our destiny. By that I mean, they think we are strange for not buying into the biggest lie of Modern Culture: egoism. They think the more you lie to yourself about how AWESOME you are, it will actually come true, and people will start believing you... "Chicks dig me" or "All the guys think I am so hot"... You know what I mean? Self-motivation.
I don't have a problem with motivating our souls, as Christians, but worldly people think that what they have (body, mind and soul, and the Bible) is not good enough. They believe that they have this whole low self esteem complex, and they constantly have to lie to themselves and others (kissing people's behinds to get what you want...) And this is how they live their lives til they hit old age. When they are old they enter a really sad state and become very very psychotic, because they do not trust in God, and they have lied to themselves their whole lives.
The Bible teaches that we are made in the image of God. We must not lie to ourselves. We are very capable. Getting a wife - a good wife is very easy. Getting a family, and inheritance are all easy things. They are not hard. Sin is what makes everything hard.
The Spirit of God is there so that we can overcome the lies of the world. The Bible says that someone who flatters their neighbour is preparing traps.
Wordly people don't get this though. For instance, many guys think that buy acting like a "player" they are going to ah... score. Let me fill you in, if you don't already know. Women are not gold-diggers. Women are just as much players as men. And both are gold-diggers. There are still gentleman and gentlewoman in the world. The Dating game has existed since the beginning of time. The only difference is that the level of lies is much stronger. People really believe that they have special powers over the opposite gender.
Being strong in the Lord and confident is what counts. It will help anyone to find wife or husband, because Christians who are right in the Lord are not obsessed about getting married. They understand that they must first get stable and prepared. Marriage is not a hike. It's a journey.
4. People worship Management and their female colleagues, but culture has not changed that much. The Ephesian Church struggled with Female Gender Worship. It is very degrading towards men. The Bible teaches that we are equal in Christ. In the World, they seem to always sort of believe that the women is a goddess and must control the house, cook, clean, work and do everything. If the man shows his God given right to assert his manliness, then the women must divorce him. Very strange. Very very strange. That is why there are so many sodomites in the world. They have no idea how women work, how the Bible works, or what they are supposed to do with their lives.
The Bible teaches us to worship management. Christians have always been persecuted for their faith, and watched with a close eye, but we are not taught to fear them, and be scared, very afraid. Assert your faith. You have authority in Christ, but don't over-pitch, and submit first to The Word of God. He may want you to keep quiet.
But in the world they teach you to sell your soul, sell everything for these people. Some managers loose everything. And don't finish with many friends or any truthful benedictions.
