a week ago i was at a friend's house who has cable and we ended up watching a few minutes of a program (don't know the name) but these women all had what i would call "taglines" about themselves. the couple taglines i can actually recall really shouldn't be repeated here, but i thought it was a funny idea nonetheless.

companies have been making millions while generating lasting impressions with taglines. it's a powerful marketing tool, whether you are running a business, or an empire of only one.

here's some examples of "hall of fame" organizational taglines:

betcha can't eat just one
so good, cats ask for it by name
because you're worth it

and some personal quasi-taglines that i CAN post to give you all some ideas:

I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific. -- Lily Tomlin

I used to think that my brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I realized who was telling me this. -- Emo Phillips

I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandpa, not screaming and yelling in terror like his passengers. -- unknown

I never said most of the things I said -- Yogi Berra

Ok, so what's YOUR tagline?

Do you have a tagline for someone else here?

1) Who ate the chocolates?
2) The chocolates were never lost for you to find chocolates.
3) Try again using a different theorem.
4) Show your own work.

As for tagline for someone else, sure: Mooseburger, no cheese! :D

"What do they teach them in the schools these days?" Actually from CS Lewis in the Narnia stories.

Hard to believe it is more relevant today, than when he wrote it in the 1950's!

My taglines (you may have heard some of these before - or not)

Give me liberty! Or give me.. chocolate donuts!

It's not how you play the game.. its how much free pizza there is afterwards!

If you love something, let it go. If it doesn't come back.. raid your local snack aisle/candy aisle or frozen desserts aisle!

:p :p :p

What doesn't hurt you, should leave you with some bruises.

If it ain't broke, just sell it anyway.

smile now, forget what you were smiling about later.

where's the beef? Still on the cow.

Ok seriously, here's what some of my taglines would be..

I have only two reasons to go on living... God and hope. To me, one cannot exist without the other. (Hope can't exist without God, and if God exists there has to be hope)

Life without someone to love is still valuable. Jesus never married.

A man's worth is not measured by things or money, but by how humbly he serves the Lord.

1) God is awesome! No wait, He is much more than that.
2) Mooseburger, no cheese! Heavy on the jalapeños. ;)

Taglines for for someone else:

1) Chocolates have many medicinal uses.
2) A day without chocolates is a day without... well, chocolates; that just can't happen. ;)
