When a person, apparently, doesn’t have anything to offer to you, what is your demeanor?
• Pro 14:21 -> “He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.”.
At first place, what the Creator considers as despise?
1 – To despise the cause of the needy (see Prov 31:9):
• Job 31:13,14 -> “If I despised the cause of my man servant or of my slave-girl, when they argued with me; what then shall I do when God rises up? And when He calls me to account, what shall I answer Him?”.
2 – To despise the friend because this proves that the heart of the person is void:
• Pro 11:12 -> “One despising his friend lacks heart, but a man of understanding remains silent.”.
And what does it make the person to despise others? Self-trusting:
• Luk 18:9 -> “And He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves, that they were righteous, and despised others:”
And what is the outcome of despising someone?
• Pro 17:5 -> “Whoever scorns the poor reviles his Maker; he who is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.”.
On the other hand, what is the aftermath of pleasing the Creator?
• Psa 112:9,10 -> “He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor. The wicked shall see and be vexed; he shall gnash with his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked shall perish.
It’s not in vain that the Paul said:
• Act 20:35 -> “I have shown you all things, that working in this way we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. ”.
So, once the desire of the wicked will perish, have a good day casting your bread on the waters; for you shall find it after many days (Ecc 11:1).
