Yea but since when does someone else's opinion really matter in this. I really don't care if someone thinks I am a nancy or looking for attention thats there issue not mine. I will cry when I ever I need to and let other people get over it.

I can't speak for other guys but if I need to cry, I would do it in private. If there's no privacy at the moment, I would hold it in. If I can't hold it in, it would probably be something very moving or hurtful.

I'm with you, Meridoc.
Very rarely, once every few years, I'll experience a work of art so moving that it makes my eyes slowly swell with tears. A special euphoria like that occurs only so many times over the course of one's life, and I'm not about to squelch it in the name of some arbitrary notion of masculinity. If Michelangelo restrained his tears as he painted the Sistine Chapel, what a loss to human history.
I honestly don't care if anyone would think any less of me for feeling intense emotions when I encounter something truly magnificent. The opinions of Philistines rarely venture away from general disapproval of everything uncommon, so why bother trying to accommodate them?

I think crying should be more accepted (also in social situations). For men and women it should be equal. But on the other hand: it should for both equal when they dont want to cry. When I look to myself: crying makes me unhappy. In strong situations is crying inevitable, and sometimes a relieve. But I think it should also be ok to be a 'less crying' person as well as being a 'more crying person'. I think that you cannot see the amount of grief on the amount of tears...

I agree with you there is always more then one reason for a person to cry. Sometimes a person has a medical condition where they are not able to control crying...such as ALS
A man has feelings just like we do. I think the Lord helped them to hold in their emotions better than women.

This pretty much sums up my own opinions as well. I think that society has placed a lot of shame and ridicule on men for crying, and that attitude is wrong. There's nothing wrong whatsoever with a man shedding tears, but for decades different families have raised their sons with this nonsense of "Men don't cry!"...it's really sad, to be honest. Being a man - and a Christian one at that - is difficult enough sometimes, without bearing a ton of false guilt for being vulnerable.

This is stupid! Are men Human! YES! So why would there be a problem with men crying it doesnt make them look weak it makes them look NORMAL! Honestly i worry about the world these days!!!!

everyone needs to cry , its not a sign of weakness, its more a sign of strength,(meaning its like a way of helping to deal with certain events in life . like who sets out that men shouldnt cry - society - and whats that given us ....... erm nothing really but a bunch of problems .Jesus cried - did that make him any less of a man- NO- and he has given us live so shouldnt we all follow him and be like him ??.if the man wants to cry let him cry , i would if man actually understood to express their feelings(by this like crying, more sensitive side) , it would help in the cases of suicide , like able to actually talk about it .

If a man cries that's okay. I myself am very sensitive (though not like Brendon Fraser in Bedazzled 
) so it doesn't bother me. Although if I saw my [nonexistent] boyfriend or [future] husband crying during a sad movie and I'm not crying, maybe because of the bad acting IDK, then I would have to crack a slight smile while thinking "cheese ball"

It's impossible to vote on this on!!!...you only allow us to choose one option.. I can't say he's allowed to cry at the birth of a child and not at the death of a friend, etc....

I personaly don't like when men cry in front of me, it makes me laugh, not in a demeaning way, but more as a maternal kind of way (Unless, of course, it is for something like a relative death)... But I'm one of those kind of women who thinks that men should express their feelings more often even if it is by crying...But that's me after all.
