(Romans 13:1-4) 13 Let every person be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. 2 Therefore, whoever opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will bring judgment against themselves. 3 For those rulers are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do you want to be free of fear of the authority? Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it; 4 for it is God’s minister to you for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be in fear, for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword. It is God’s minister, an avenger to express wrath against the one practicing what is bad.

At the end of the day, we are a “nation of laws”. God will tend to matters that pertain to God. The Christian obligation to keep integrity to God will not be affected by the “Law of the Land”!! Being able to discuss different opinions freely is a wonderful perk of a country with “laws”. Law is so much better than the chaos that comes with anarchy!!!! Each one much decide whether the “Law of the Land” or the “Law of God “ will guide their conscience and behavior.

A time of Trial and persecution will come to Christians in America .
But this country is not our home we are not of this world :)
Good reminder reading 1 Peter 4 :)

Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

If we are a nation of laws and also a nation brought up on the principles of God, we read in the book that contains the principles of God that the law was brought in to punish the lawbreaker. And also in this verse we are told that God placed the people in their 'relative positions.' Like Kim Davis who was put in jail by opposing the giving of marriage licenses to gay couples. Was that wrong? No. There are laws in states against the marriage of other than a man and a woman. The interpretation of what the Supreme Court did was they made the laws null and void concerning the marriage of same sex individuals. The Supreme Court does not make or void laws, that is not their job. Their job is to interpret rulings made in cases involving individuals against states, states against each other, states against the nation, etc.
The suit was brought to a Federal Court by a woman from Canada who had married another woman in Canada and that woman died and left her U.S. estate to her partner. The lady from Canada sought exemption from federal estate taxes for surviving spouses. She was refused because there are over 1000 federal laws and many more regulations prohibiting that exemption to same-sex couples.
The only thing that the ruling on same-sex marriage did was confirm states-rights. If it is on the books in the state to not recognize same-sex couples, they are not recognized.
