So is the person/place where they did your braids, the same place that did your ears and nose?
(Often they will do the range of services.)
I can't even remember the last time. My hair is so thick and long that it takes forEVER, way too long for me to care. Plus, since my hair is curly, if I use a blow dryer I end up looking like this:

This morning. I don't like using it, but my hair is long and I needed to be at work in the morning.
Who am I and where did I go?
It has been so long I can't remember the last time I used a hair dryer either. Many - many years.

This morning. Use it twice a week for a hour at a time. long, thick hair so it's tedious but it's worth it once it's all blowed out

1977... after that I was in AFROTC, then Air Force, then civilian job where I had to have my hair short and no beard. I just retired so now I can have long hair and grow a beard... you know, if that is deemed the appropriate action to take. 
Up until the late 90's I used to use a hair dryer all the time because I like to have my hair a certain way and that was the only way I could get it that way... and then I discovered gel. 
yes, i must validate what miss rachel has said, on all counts of length and WAYTOOMUCHHAIR.
we curly girls don't seem to mix well with the blow dryer.
however, sometimes when i'm in a big hurry, i will tip upside down and dry my roots (especially on the top) to hasten the drying process. that doesn't seem to create the 'crazy fro' look for me.
i do that a decent amount of time. probably as recent as 10 days ago.
and sometimes when i go riding/running/playing and it's still wet, i just put it in braids/pigtails/ponytail and call it a day.
