I have come to realization that in my entire faith walk, save a few periods that seem drops in an ocean now, I have not experienced "The peace that surpasses all understand." In contrast, I feel prayer, trying to seek God, trying to be regenerate / holy, and etc triggers anxiety, OCD behaviors, and makes my soul feel like its going to tear through my heart. As a result the thing that should sooth is now a sharp instrument that is making me back away. I still believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and believe the Bible is true, but I find that religion and churchy stuff triggering major scrupleocity and anxiety in me.

I have found myself asking, can I take a break? Even from God? Not faith in Him, but the obligations of being Bible Answer Man, prayer, and etc. Can I just have Richard Wurmbrandt Heartbeat of God for now?
Jesus said that we should come to Him to find rest. The Christian life is not a set of standards that we have to meet. That is dead religion. Jesus has already done everything necessary to please God. Rest in the finished work that Jesus achieved by His death and resurrection. Study God's word to discover your new birthright. If you are not at peace it is because you imagine that there is something left for you to do. The reality is that all we need to do is believe what Jesus and God's word says. In Christ, we are new creations. The old is passed away. We died and our lives are hidden in Christ with God. God no longer sees you, He sees Jesus.

When those truths are settled in our hearts, we will have peace. We will know the victory of Christ in difficult situations. The yoke Lord Jesus gives is easy and His burden light. Accept the Lordship of Christ and quit trying to be what God has already made you to be in Christ. Stay where God has put you - into Christ. Quit trying and start trusting.

This does not mean we go passive. We still eat and drink to keep our bodies alive. We still pray and study God's word, which is spiritual food. But we pray and study because it's who we are, not in order to become something we are not.

I suggest that you get a copy of "The Normal Christian Life". It's very helpful. Note that the title includes "normal". To be spiritual is normal. To be down in the dumps and oppressed is not normal. Neither is it glorifying to God nor does it do credit to the wonderful salvation that Jesus paid so much to win for us.

My friend it is normal to feel burnt out it sometimes is good to just chill and take a break we need to in order to rest up but if I may I wonder how much do you feel his love? I have found the more love you have in you and the more you know and feel his love for you the more peace you have inside and joy as well.
I tend to have a filter in my head that was established by religion and insecurity that He hates me.

I have experienced his Love in a manifest way, and in that moment I felt no sin was on me. But that was so long ago..

Were you here before, under another nickname? I remember one guy who was always talking about having trouble with scrupulosity. Haven't seen him around lately, so I'm wondering if you are he.

What exasperates my negative filter of the Lord is reading The Book of Revelation too much. In that he is always disappointed in everyone (Chapters 1 thru 3).

I have to read the Gospel of John to get reoriented to know he loves me.

Yeah that book is a hard read sometimes but his love for us is vast and deep and he wants us to know and understand that so it is good that you read the book of John, I like to listen to worship music when I am feeling that way the right song just always comes on as if it was meant for me

Yeah I play Dunn's "I wanna go back to Jesus loves me," a lot because the chorus is, "Yes Jesus loves me! Yes Jesus loves me!"

I have read the negative tapes in our heads about God often have to do with a parent, if we have a Father specifically who is not forgiving, and harsh, we tend to project that on Our Father in Heaven.

Did you have such a father? I know I did I was severely abused and drugged and beaten starved all kinds of thing so I can certainly understand if that is the case

My Father never repents or apologizes, has a short fuse (temper) and says very abusive things, especially when he drinks. So yeah.

I am sorry to hear that, the way I always saw it was I learned what not to be from my parents and that they were just putting their inner demons on me because they didn't know who else to lash out on.
But our father in heaven is kind gentle loving patient everything our parents werent so trust me my friend you are dearly cherished by him and perfect in his eyes nothing you could ever do would make him love you or see you any less

Indeed, like that Song, "You are Good good Father! It's who you are! It's who you are!"
