Where and for what are we getting together?
When Jesus commissioned His apostles, He said:
And probably Lydia heard something about this, inasmuch as she talked about her dignity and faithfulness to try to bring Paul around:
And the reason for this can be seen below:
It comes the question: are we coming into the house of the wicked to backbite, entertain, participate of a binge, or into the house of the just to know Jesus better?
Many times we harp on about what we are living and, as Habakkuk, arguing:
Nevertheless, what are we repining about if we plan on sticking around where Jesus doesn’t want us, doing what He does not want to do, failing to do what He enjoined us and, moreover, always acting in the wrong way?
Remember that Jesus send us as lambs amidst wolves (Matthew 10.16). So, stand up in Christ, always present in the house of those who seek out Jesus with a pure heart (2Timothy 2.22) and may the blessing of the just rest in your home.
When Jesus commissioned His apostles, He said:
- “And into whatever city or village you enter, *inquire who within it is worthy*. And there abide until you go away from there” (Mat 10:11).
And probably Lydia heard something about this, inasmuch as she talked about her dignity and faithfulness to try to bring Paul around:
- “And when she was baptized, she and her household, she begged us, saying, *If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord*, come into my house and stay. And she constrained us.” (Act 16:15).
And the reason for this can be seen below:
- “The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked; but He blesses the home of the just.” (Proverbs 3.33).
It comes the question: are we coming into the house of the wicked to backbite, entertain, participate of a binge, or into the house of the just to know Jesus better?
Many times we harp on about what we are living and, as Habakkuk, arguing:
- “O Jehovah, until when shall I cry and You will not hear? I cry out to You of violence, and You do not save! Why do You show me evil, and You look on toil? For destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention rises up. Therefore the law has become helpless, and justice does not always go forth. For the wicked entraps the righteous; therefore justice goes forth, being perverted.” (Habakkuk 1.2-4).
Nevertheless, what are we repining about if we plan on sticking around where Jesus doesn’t want us, doing what He does not want to do, failing to do what He enjoined us and, moreover, always acting in the wrong way?
