When younger, my happy place was McDonalds. I'd have a happy meal, I'd choose the chicken Mcnuggets or filet o'fish burger. I remember my happiest moment came when they had little Garfield toys that came with the happy meal. Garfield also made me happy, because he was funny and made me laugh.

If my parents wanted me to behave, they'd promise me if I was good, they'd take me to McDonalds. I liked sitting on the seats that spun around. I liked the crispy french fries, and sipping coca cola out of the paper cup with the straw. McDonalds was where if you were thirsty, you could always ask for a cup of water and they'd give it to you for free. And that was where you could use the rest room when there were no other public toilets.

There was a playground, and it was a safe space to play.
You could get an icecream for $1, a hamburger for $2, or a hot chocolate for $2. You didn't have to wait too long and the food would be hot, and the icecream soft and cold. The drink would be fizzy, and you could have ice in it. You didn't have to have fussy table manners or dress up to go to McDonalds. They welcomed children.

Georgie Pie was similar, until it closed down. I was sad about Georgie Pie.
 
A visit to the public library was my next happy place. I could borrow up to four books, and there were so many books! And the cushions were comfy. Nobody bothered me in the library or expected me to talk. I could read anything I wanted, I devoured books. Nobody judged me in the library. 'And it was free.
 
My happy place is definitely my bed 😄 There’s just something about a cozy little spot where I can fully relax and unwind.

I also really love nature when I need peace and quiet. I like walking by the lake, sitting down for a bit and just listening to the birds and the water. It really helps clear my head.

And knitting is another big one for me. I’ll grab my yarn, sit in my favorite armchair and just let myself relax. It’s so calming to see the work slowly grow. I also know that if I ever lost interest in yarn or knitting completely, that would probably be a sign that something’s not quite right.

Thank God for a nice comfy bed with pillows and warm blankets. Am in bed as we speak typing on laptop. So much more comfortable and warmer than sitting at a desk on a chair.
