I decided to go for education, then special education, then finally decided on ASL. Maybe I'll take a cooking class later, or maybe not.
 
No, I'm gonna be an ASL/English interpreter. I wanna get my trilingual certificate and throw in Spanish too.

Gladly!! The girl next door is deaf. She has a CI, and goes to an oral school. Yuck. I'd rather she learn to sign. She does sign a little, but she's forbidden from using ASL at school.
 
Because Oralists believe that if a child learns to sign, it will impede their learning English. They'll find it easier to sign than speak, and not want to learn. The family speaks mostly spanish, so she's picking up on both languages.
