Actually, the gorilla is an endangered species, so it is a big deal. But saving the life of a child is a WAY BIGGER deal.IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE WORLD, IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES, SOME OF THESE ARE A NORMAL PART OF THE DIET OF THE PEOPLES, AND NONE OF THEM SEEMED FREAKED OUT ABOUT IT.
IN OTHER COUNTRIES, A FEW OF THESE ARE SACRED BEINGS.
Guess what I'm saying is...........this killing of the gorilla to save that child should not be that big of a deal should it?
Now, I do understand (to a degree) why some on the liberal left are so upset, after all, they believe in evolution, which means that the gorilla could well have been one of their ancestors. And this is why the lives of gorillas, monkeys and other creatures are at least as valuable to them as is a human life. Right?
But, the turkey looked good to me, until I remembered the last wild turkey I ate. (I think it was ready to die of old age. Definitely a toughness to that meat. lol) Chicken is always good. I'm rather curious if ostriches drumsticks are more like chicken or turkey drumsticks. I'm not keen on turkey drumsticks because too much cartilage, but imagine cartilage that much bigger. Not eating a bee -- way to much effort to skin it and too small to taste. Kangaroo tail soup is pretty good, but not enough removed from beef for my taste. (I don't eat red meat.) The only animal I wouldn't try out of the list would be the bee, and someone would have to give me a really good reason why the gorilla died, because I'm not eating endangered animal simply because I could afford the cost of poaching it.
I grew up having to eat what's on my plate, (and Dad hunted, gigged, or fished for most of what we ate), so none of those grossed me out but the bee. I'm allergic to bees. Probably why.

I've eaten fishhead stew. I've fed a pig his last meal before he became my porkchop. I think I could handle Tyson, (except for the smell.)In that case, do not ever take a tour of a Tyson Chicken Processing Plant.

Snapper (snapping turtle) soup is good. (We even invited all the neighborhood kids over to watch Dad chop the head off.) I wonder if sea turtle is similar.

When Dad moved ito his last house, he had this thing against squirrels digging up his yard. So, he had an airgun near the back door. He also used to spend the entire day on Tuesdays making eals for Aid to Friends, a charity group that sent meals to shut-ins or people who needed food. Usually he made a pork roast or a whole turkey, but he lived in the woods, so squirrels were abundant. One time he made 8 full meals with squirrel as the meat. The only week he didn't include the full menu. Eight people had no idea that delicious dinner they were eating was the same critter walking across their yard. lol

Way things are going...........I'd say the lives of children, especially the unborn, are close to being an endangered species.

My younger brother was born in 1967. Roe v. Wade became the law f the lan in 1972. I did the stats in 1974. My younger brother will never meet 10% of kids born close to his age, because they were killed before they were born. I don't know if the stats have gone down since then, but that was horrifying when I realized who people have been missing since 1972.
