Who are we make alliances with? Who are, in fact, our God?
When a dog gets sick or is hungry, it goes to its owner (Matthew 15.27) and stay close to him until he receives what it needs. We, instead, most of the times, make alliances with people that don’t have acceptation before Jesus (1Corinthians 6.4,6):

There is no point mulling over the Holy Scripture if this don’t increase our intimacy with Jesus (after all, the best way to procure knowledge is learning direct from Him – Ephesians 4.20,21; John 6.44,45). The boons of Jesus aren’t to make us achieve success in the world, but to able us to quash it with its ruses.
Jesus’ boons aren’t to make us famous, but bestow us discretion. Recall all the times that Jesus strained to keep in secret His deeds (for instance, Mark 1.44; Luke 4.41).
If we believe that all good gift comes from the heaven (James 1.16,17) and that Jesus is the only Savior and Sage God (Romans 16.27; 1Timothy 1.17; Jude 1.25), we need to bide with patience for Him (Psalms 40.1) until He answers us (Habakkuk 2.1,2). Otherwise, we will lose to the dogs in terms of faithfulness.
So if you ache for good days, don’t walk on the Rock; rather, try to stay rooted in this Rock
