LOOK TO JESUS

Have you ever wondered who the Holy Spirit is? You are not alone. Followers of John the Baptist had to admit, "We have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." (Acts 19:2)

So let’s look into God’s Word to find out some things about the Holy Spirit, and why this is such an important subject:

WHO is the Holy Spirit?

He is the Spirit of God and of Jesus Himself (Romans 8:9). John 16:13 says, “He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth...”

WHAT does the Holy Spirit do?

The Holy Spirit comforts us (John 14:16); prays for us (Romans 8:26); and guides us to the truth (John 16:13). These are just a few things the Holy Spirit does for us.

WHERE is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is everywhere (Psalm 139:7-8), yet lives right inside of us. “Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God” (1 Corinthians 6:19 NLT)

WHY did the Holy Spirit come?

To bring glory to Christ and to give us the strength to spread His message everywhere: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

The Holy Spirit’s Power in Our Life

Galatians 5:16 says, “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” (NLT)

Other religions tell us to live a certain way, but only Christians have the power to live God’s way: The Holy Spirit living inside us. How do we connect to this power?

You must want to be guided by the Spirit (Matthew 5:6)
Confess your sins (1 John 1:9)
Give every area of your life to God (Romans 12:1-2)
By faith, claim the Holy Spirit’s power, according to his Command (“be filled with the Spirit” - Ephesians 5:18) and his Promise (“when we ask according to His will, he hears us . . .” – 1 John 5:14)
You could talk to God and say something like this:

“Dear God, I need You. I’m sorry for all the wrong things I have done. I want you to help me. I know my sins are forgiven because you sent Jesus to die on the cross. Thank you for forgiving me. I want Jesus Christ to take control of my life. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit; give me Your wisdom and power to live a life that brings glory to you.”

Look to Jesus...

...to fill you with His Holy Spirit, giving you the strength to live a life that glorifies Him.

Ah the holy spirit now that is a topic i could really enjoy discussing.I have come notice that even though God the father Jesus the son the holy spirit are one they each have different attributes in their nature. The holy spirit is unique among the trinity in the sense that he unlike Jesus and the father never speaks with an actual voice and never uses actual words. Have you noticed in the bible God speaks and so does Jesus using both a voice and actual words but the holy spirit on the other doesn't unless count when they spoke in tongues.

I have come to know the holy spirits voice as a voice with no sound and he speaks without using actual words they are words you can only hear and understand with your heart. He has revealed himself in many forms to me, the first form he ever took was a blazing fire filled with God's life and power and how his love was burning so intensely in that flame, the second was water, cool clean refreshing water soothing to the touch and was absolutely filled with life so much so that your skin would radiate a golden glow. The third was in the form of wind and now every time I am on walk and the breeze blows strongly I remember him and sometimes it even feels like something is stirred inside me.

But you see he much more than this as well, he is the reason that we can speak to God with our hearts alone, sometimes there simply are no words and so our hearts speak what our tongues cannot and this is him because he knows just what we are trying to say. He is the spark that is made in people when we speak a word of encouragement or inspire someone with our passion for God and he is at least for me our best friend

We find this in John as well,.......

John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
 
1 Timothy 4:1,2
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
 
He speaks and He is the One who is directing us while we are in this earth.

Acts 13:2-4 (NASB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."

[SUP]3 [/SUP] Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
 

When Jesus speaks, He speaks only what the Father tells Him.
When the Holy Spirit speaks, He speaks only what Jesus tells Him.


so


When one or the other speaks, they are speaking the words of our Father.

Such a refreshing thread,and very important to think on whom is the holy spirit?
if any spare a moment to pray for understanding before reading the bible,you shall feel his presence,and be taught much.
