I didn't read the comments that lead up to your post, so I don't know the context of your conversation or why you said what you said.
I merely shared a Biblical observation...Believers (the collective group) can commit acts of sin, but they are not called sinners in Scripture. "Sinners" is a label the Holy dedicates to the wicked (the unregenerated). All throughout the psalms you see this clearly...the contrast between the righteous and the wicked. It's an identity marker.
Yes, my only problem is when people call everyone a sinner, regardless if they have repented or not. The past sins shall not be mentioned unto him. They are no longer sinners after repentance, because Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. They are righteous children of God, after repentance, a new creation with a new heart. Old things are passed away, all things become new.
I didn’t call anyone a sinner, I merely pointed out that everyone sins. Thank God for His saving grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
It breaks my heart that some people fail to ascertain the very heart of the Gospel.
Deuteronomy 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
What you don't understand is that the Holy Spirit cannot sin, so those who are born of God cannot sin, because they have the Holy Spirit:
1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
-He can only save those who repent:
Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
-Jesus does the Will of the Father and the Father said:
Exodus 23:7 [...] I will not justify the wicked.
Jesus is not an abomination:
Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord.
-So, no. Jesus will not justify the ungodly:
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
the idea is to let it set in our minds that we arent to sin, that’s why John wrote those things but he tells us this
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
1 John 2:1-2 KJV
we need to let our mimd and heart be set fully against sin but also and equally understand when we realize we have fallen short in some way , we still and always have the perfect propitiation for our sins.
He sort of forgot to quote the part where not sinning , is to be taken in with when anyone does sin they have a propitiation.
to sin as a Christian is not the rule but the exception which he has helped us in that situation. In other words we should believe we are never to sin but when we realize we have ( and we all fall Short at different times ) we have this

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

we shouldn’t think sin is normal or okay for a born again Christian but we can never forget about the atonement we have available for when we do sin.
If we think sin is okay for us to do we won’t repent and confess. if we understand sin is not for us anymore and it’s wages are death , we will confess and repent when we have sinned.
both aspects are true “ sin not “ plus “
If anyone sins we have a propitiation Jesus Christ the righteous advocating for us and he is sufficient to cleanse and justify believers “
We should accept this because it causes us to turn against sin
“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.”
1 John 3:5-6
and also always trust this for when we fail

He’s calling us out of sin , and understands also the weakness and imperfection of the flesh because he dwelt in the flesh for a time and is merciful when we repent
often we only see half of it whether the sin not part , or the propitiation part but they work together to lead us to repentance and obedience to the faith
John is talking about the actual person who has the Holy Spirit, the person cannot sin, do you accept the witness of John?

Every devout Christian I’ve ever met sins. And since no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit, it proves they are Christian. Or do you discredit Paul?
So you take the witness of man over the witness of the Word?
1 John 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

The witness of God is greater:
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
-This is what really proves someone knows Him:
1 John 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
All your cunning blathering amounts to the following: you sin. The fact that you deny sinning proves all the more that you sin.

You can only accuse. Accusations won't prove your point.

There you have it, if you believe Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness, then any one who is cleansed by Him, is without sin, because of the abstinence of "all unrighteousness".
