I agree holiness unto God a real death and to die a martyr would be an honor as long as it is God's will

If He does have a purpose for me sure I'll stay but so far the more I stay the more temptations I face everyday.
Not to divert but I'm the "sleep in the dust and awaiting for the new heaven and the new earth" camp.
He died for me, why wouldn't one who sees this not die for him, otherwise maybe that one doesn't see this through! death to self with Christ at the cross, is where new life is given from Father at the resurrected Christ

Yeshua says: If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
What is that cross about? I don't think it's as simply as hated by others.
Rom 8...Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
Would this happen to us?
Heb 11...There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning;[SUP] [/SUP]they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— the world was not worthy of them.
Can we be sure it will not happen to us?

What does beheaded mean here?
I think id prefer gillitine rather than crucifixtion. It's painless and your dead before you feel it. Id die for the Lord for sure. Juts not any time soon hopefully

In the notable words of Archie Bunker, ... "if going all out doesn't cost you anything, ... go all out". Besides, with all the miraculous raising(s) from the dead today, both claimed and testified of by the signs and wonders crowd here on CC, I'm seeing a win-win scenario. We can die martyrs ... and just have one of our friends raise us from the dead. I'm in !

Perhaps needing to decide what we will do if asked to deny Christ is closer than we think? Our bible class has been making a comparison of US laws and the laws Hitler made to prepare for the Holocaust. Bible seems to teach that Christians will be put in the same spot the Jews were put in.

These are just some of the ways Hitler's policies and US policies are similar. I think it is time we truly consider where we stand with God.

- Legal rulings are taking over what is only God's, like abortion, wrong marriages, etc.
- The privileged position of Islam
- Government pretending to be for church as they restrict more and more Christian access.
- Government establishing themselves are our caregivers, so people look to them for security, not God.
- Church laws and morals made less and less of, government immorality promoted.
These are just some of the ways Hitler's policies and US policies are similar. I think it is time we truly consider where we stand with God.

Personally, I would prefer to be quickly beheaded like the prophet John was,
rather than to die after a long and excruciating torture on the cross.

He was already spiritually crucified in His Spirit all the days He was in this fallen world.
At some point, Peter was willing to physically die for Christ, but he was not willing to spiritually die for Christ yet.
The old man in him was still present, and Peter had a very hard time to let his spiritual old man die, so he denied Jesus three times.
But after that Peter repented with very painful tears, and this time, Peter truly let his spiritual old man die, and many years later, the physical old man of Peter died on the cross, and he totally died to the ancient world, both spiritually and physically.
Yes, I am willing to die spiritually and physically for Christ, if the Lord directly shows me the way !

Since becoming a believer, I have thought about this a lot. If I was told to deny Jesus or die, I would have to die. How can I deny the One who has brought so much into my life is such a short time.
Yes, my mortal body fears the pain. But, there will be no more pain in heaven so, going through the pain that ends my life on earth would be a small sacrifice to the One who died for my sins. Then I will be with Him, what a glorious thought!
