Whom you are walking with?
Straw is the refuse of the wheat (see Amos 8.6). Straw is used as food for animals (1Kings 4.28; Isaiah 11.7; 65.25). All of us should be food for the Church (1Corinthians 5.7; 10.16,17), such Jesus Christ (John 6.51-57). So, straw represents the wicked (Psalms 1.6) who feed bad thoughts and feeling in this society.
Hay was used as cover for roofs (2Kings 19.26; Isaiah 37.27). We should put on:
tender feelings of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering (Colossians 3.14).
Hay represents the wicked who try to cover his nakedness with the glory and fame of this world.
Wood was curse over someone whose sin is worth of death (Deuteronomy 21.22,23; Galatians 3.13). As heirs of Abraham in faith, we need to be a blessing (Genesis 12.2; James 3.10-12). Therefore, our lives need to be edified only with people that are a blessing for everyone. So, wood represents the wicked that loves the curse, have pleasure in the other people’s disgrace (see Psalms 109.17).
Are We Jesus’ building (1Pedro 5.5-8). Who type of person will compose our life? What type of relationship are we keeping in our daily life (each day that we live, we are fill in the film of our live and making up our innermost being)?
Our convivence, whether at work, school, etc. is with people that only worry about making money, finding pleasure, looking great at the eyes of people around them? Are we just a pleaser of people who are a curse or love curse other people (see 2Chronicles 19.2)? Or will we allow Jesus to use His living stones in order to edify us so that He can use us to complete His history that is being written in the Book of Life (Revelation 21.27)?
So, have a great week in Christ Jesus, but be careful! If you live for Christ in sincerity, but build your life with people that don’t love the Truth, your process of salvation will be extremely dolorous. The fire of the law (Deuteronomy 33.2) and of the word of the Creator (Jeremiah 5.14) certainly will try your work; the tempest of the Creator will shake all that is shakable in your life (Matthew 7.24-27; Hebrews 12.25-27) in order that only remains what is good for you and for whom is close to you.
- “And if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work shall be revealed. For the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try each one's work as to what kind it is. If anyone's work which he built remains, he shall receive a reward. If anyone's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire.” (1Cor 3.12-15).
