I was just wandering if you guys could help understand why the very same people who where intended by to be at the top are so terrified to be at their rightful positions especially when it comes to business, are Christians stil insecure when it comes to money?or we just dont want to believe God when He says in Deu 28:13 we suppose to be on top never at the bottom. So let me hear from you guys

Im guessing because either they will have more accountability or money will start corrupting them.

Yupp, they will become more worldy than attached to God.
They will keep wanting more ,but when you are attached to God all that you need and want is right in front of you.

You cannot serve God and mammon. Dedicated Christians know it is a waste of time and energy to climb the corportate ladder to get rich rather than using that time to "set your affection on things above and not on things of the earth". The flesh craves power and money. When a person is genuinely saved, they do not want the "lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life" which is not of the Father but of the world. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let not that man think that he shall receive anything off God.

Sorry but i have to interrupt, people have really misunderstood the word first of all the word says 2Ti6:10 the Love of money is the root of all evil that is very true its the LOVE of money not money!! because Christ commanded us 2 love God and people around us Mat22:37-39, and i know all born again are blessed but look what blessing does Pro 10:22 it has made us rich (spiritually, physically, mentally, socially and even financially). Just a practical example this chatroom is in need of new equipment and seeks FINANCIAL SUPPORT from us and if Christians were not scared of recieving money from God then Christians would not be scared of getting it out to what its intendend for, also we dont climb the corporate ladder we guided by the Holy Spirit to create multi million business for the kingdom of God, lastly im sure most of Christians dont directly involve themselves in feeding the poor, clothing them, taking people out the dangers of human trafficking and the streets building them orphanages, and even clinics and hospital in remote places because those Christians who do that know IT TAKES MONEY TO DO THAT, do we think the selfish people of the world would do that? God knew only Christians would do that but funny enough Christians are scared of money, God made it clear the reason He blessed Abraham was for Abraham to be a blessing Gen 12:2 so the lies must stop there is nothing wrong with money but the love of it thats the problem

Jesus says that his kingdom is not of this world. His kingdom is righteousness peace and joy in the holy spirit and Jesus is standing outside of the door knocking to get in. The Laodecian church boasts that they are rich and increased with goods and has no need. Jesus said because you are lukewarm, I will spew you out of my mouth. He counsels us to be like gold tried in the fire. He also tells us to anoint our eyes with eyesalve so we can see. Revelation 3:14-22.
The word of God also says these lovers of money in the last days 1 Timmothy 6 If any man teaches othewise and does not consent to wholesome words of our Lord Jesus Christ, he is PROUD and KNOWS NOTHING, BUT DOTING ABOUT QUESTIONS AND WORDS WHEROF COMES ENVY, STRIFE, RAILINGS AND EVIL SURMISSINGS, PERVERSE DISPUTINGS OF MEN OF CORRUPT MINDS AND DESTITUTE OF THE TRUTH SUPPOSING THAT GAIN IS GODLINESS, FROM SUCH WITHOUT YOURSELF. BUT GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN. But they who will be rich fall into temptatoin and a snare and into many foolsih and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil. Here is says to turn away from men teaching that gain is godliness and they use that Abraham story to justify it.
That scripture about being the head and not the tail is another scriptures that prosperity preachers twist and pervert and teach to build their own kingdoms. They are building their own kingdoms and not the kingdom of God.
There are individuals that God blesses with the gift of giving and the gifts of mercy. That is a gift. There is no striving or begging and solicitation. Jesus never had to beg and solicite for money. God the Father was the provider and when a person is blessed in that way to be a help to others, it is a gift from God. I am not scared of money and being scared of money is not the problem. People who know the truth of the word of God turn away from prosperity doctrine crap BS. You can bestow all you have to the poor etc, but, if you do not have love, it profits you nothing.
I do agree with that taking care of the poor is a job for the church, his people, not the government. Another things too if people would not waste their money on building these destestable huge fancy church buildings, there would be more help for the members in there that need the help. Pure religeon is undefiled and to visit the fatherless and the widow in their distress and keep himself unspotted from the world.
It is not a lie that Jesus said that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God and it is not a camel getting down on its knees to pass through an entrance of a wall in the city. Jesus overturned the tables in the temple because of the merchandising that was going on and he even chased them with a whip. There is also another horrible lie that is taught by these corrupt men that say that the subject of money is preached more in the word of God than anything else! Satan is the father of lies. If people actually read their bibles instead of listening to these corrupt men who take a couple scriptures and twist and distort things, they would be out of business. That " seed doctrine" has also deceived many because of the greed in their hearts that you give to get back from God. The seed that this doctrine comes from is from the seed of satan, Cain was the father of merchandising. Let no man deceive you and carry you off as spoil through the tradition and doctrine of man and not after Christ, for in HIM dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily and he is the head of all principality and power.
Your concern about the poor is a good concern if your heart has pure motives about it in truly helping and not wanting titles and fame and recognition of man. Jesus said that the only reward the pharisees had was the recognition of man and to do our good deeds in secret and to not be seen of man. I feel that it is very sad that most people sitting in the pews are not paying attention to how there is suffering in the world and for what is coming upon our nation and they think that by ignoring it, it will go aways or else that they will be raptured out. He that shows no mercy shall receive no mercy and they shall say, "lord lord, when did we see you sick and hungry and naked"? Jesus will say, when you did not do it to the least of these my bretheran, you did not do it unto me, go into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
Our son and daughter in law were attending a huge church that taught the seed doctrine and prosperity doctrine. My husband and I tried to give them the truth but like lots of younger adults, they think that we are stupid and didn't listen. Well, it took a few years and they learned the hard way and pride goes before a fall. We did not say to them, "We told you so". We are just blessed and happy that they woke up and are back on track with God.
We all make stupid mistakes. Here is a great article that you can read and get angry about and say that it is stupid!! hee hee!!

Vuyi,

Well bro, by now you must have figured out the answer to your question.

Its mostly about fear. There are a lot of Christians who fear that money will drive a person away from God. You will hear a lot of Christians talk against being wealthy, against working to be on the top of the ladder, and talk bad about the wealthy people in the world. You will also here a lot of Christians complain about their bosses, about how much of an idiot their boss is and how they would have done a better job if they were to boss.....but they don't want to climb up that corporate ladder.

You will also meet a lot of Christians who will pride themselves in their moderate financial status. These are the ones who always talk bad about rich people and find faults in them.

Well, bro, this is how it is. However, if you want to climb that corporate ladder, if you want to have more than a moderate financial standing, then don't let the negative people stop you. You be obedient to God and accept His blessings with thanksgiving and be responsible to those blessings. And if you worry that perhaps you may fall in love with money and leave God, then trust in God that as long as you are with Him, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can handle.

So leave the negative influences, keep your eyes on God and faithfully do the work God has given you. And when He brings you opportunities and blessings, take them and continue to move forward in life.

God has blessed people in the Bible, with fortunes. Look at Job. Job had it all taken away, and then God rewarded him with even more than he had before.

Just because a person is ambitious, or has money, doesn't mean they worship it. Too often people of wealth are judged, that they are worshiping money. People who have it, often use it for Godly reasons, and are blessed even more, because they can do things with money that serve God's purpose.

Maybe some Christians are afraid of it, because they know their own weaknesses. Maybe they would be changed in a negative way. There are also those that do much good with it, and can handle the responsibility of it, by being a good steward.

There is nothing wrong with Christians being in high positions in the business world as long as their business practices are fair and they are not disenfranchising anyone.

That being said, NOWHERE do Jesus nor the New Testament indicate that Christians are to seek wealth and riches. In fact, in some instances they are told very straightforwardly not to seek these things.

Maybe there are some who simply are quite content with, AND thankful for, what they already have?

Maybe the money aspect of it doesn't play into it?

Maybe there are other factors that take a higher priority?

Like...time lost with family?

It's all about Priorities.

And trusting God...

which is, or should be, the TOP priority.

Jezreel, Silex, Ground Hog, Buddee and Z-e-n, i appreciate your honest opinions and its good to know from that honestly Christians dont have problem with money there may be little insecurities and fear but honestly they don't have a problem with money, guys i'm from South Africa and what i saw was shocking the west, east, central, and now even southern africa is populated with muslims! in case you didn't know muslims go to these places dying of hunger they give them food on a condition that they will accept their religion and now even in Southern and South Africa they are targeting the poor people often neglected the give them food, jobs and even business on the price of their souls, now i'l talk about South Africa there are people that God has called to feed these people and provide shelters for them im one of them and its amazing how people respond to the gospel of Christ Jesus when they SEE the love we have and it makes them accept Christ when we tell them its because of we do this, He loved man so we as His ambassadors love them, and you know what happens when they accept Christ the muslims cut them off from the supply such as food and tell them they must rely on Christians for food so guys there are places that a simple thing as food some people have used it for their advantage and when we Christians also provide food for these people we give them a real chance to chose. So lets not be scared of money for the sake of millions of people who are in need and Christ Jesus rely on us Christians to be what He said we are the LIGHT OF THE WORLD Mat 5:14

Jazreel, I apologize if I offended you in any way. Don't take me wrong, I don't condone the prosperity gospel stuff. However, I have seen a number of Christians who talk negatively about the rich and wealthy and I don't condone this either.

I don't quite like it when Christians discourage others who want to get into the high business positions. Whether this is due to fear, jealousy, pride...or whatever the cause, its just wrong. There is nothing wrong with a Christian being in the top of the corporate ladder. Rather, if there were more believers in those positions, perhaps we wouldn't be going through a bad economy. Instead of discouraging young Christian professionals, if fellow Christians would encourage them, it would be so wonderful.

On the other hand, all this discouragement doesn't really help at all. The young Christian feels like he's walking alone on this road. And its already a difficult road to walk in. The lack of encouragement from fellow Christians makes it worse.

So let us not discourage the one who's climbing up the corporate ladder or starting his own enterprise. We wouldn't discourage an athlete from being the best he can be in the team, would we? So why discourage a professional or entrepreneur from being the best he/she can be?

If God chooses to bless someone with riches, He won't rain down money from the sky, would He? How can a person receive the blessings if they reject the opportunities?

I hope you understand.

because money is a hard topic for christains lot of people dont give there 10% and no offering how can God bless the other 90% if you show him you trust him he will make you in charge of man things if you look at people in the bible that trusted God like david and solomon they were wealth because they trusted God. we are on top because we know God and have entrenal life. think if you read "The treasure principle" you will understand my friend its a great book i recommend it to all my brothers and sisters in christ

I am really sorry too. My impatience has gotten me to have to wear glasses now when I read the computer screen. It is very annoying because some medicine that I have been taking has affected myvisoin horribly. It is all fuzzy and my vision is normally very good and I don't need glasses at all yet but for reading the screen now, I have to get some! I am noticing that I need to pay better attention of what I am reading because of it also. My eyes have always been so good and to have the suddenly get blurry is upsetting. I bought some reading glasses at the dollar store and they are working great right now! I got three of them in case I misplace them. The dollar store has junkie stuff but the glasses do work great

David may have been "wealthy"...but he was also quite miserable a good bit of the time.

So just how wealthy was he?

Here is THE Real, that is, GOD's, Treasure Principle:

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Trust in that.

Guys we must keep in mind That Christ Jesus gave us the winning formular when it comes to wealth Mat 6:33 we must fix our on Him then all things are added, and this is what i would recommend 2 people "always fix your eyes on Christ Jesus no matter what"

I think Silex and Vuyi are right on the money. Money is not the root of all evil, if it was then why did Satan go against God, for money?

From what I have seen over the years it is Satan that doesn’t want Christians involved in his dealings and world leaders so he has created many religions that keep people down instead of them becoming true to themselves.

Wealth has nothing to do with success except for what you have. Rich or poor, all people suffer at the level they are in. If you think wealth corrupts people, then why is it that most crimes are committed by “poor” people. Wealth keeps a person straight by providing for their needs. To seek wealth is to seek a life of happiness.

“So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time-houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions-and in the age to come, eternal life.” Mark 10:29-30

Doesn't sound like Jesus was against money or land, sounds like many have been deceived instead.
