maybe that is true for some, but as for me and my house the reasons given are exactly why I don't practice it. God calls us to obedience and a new way of life. If it is not of God it is sin, if it is contrary to God it is sin, if it contradicts the Word of God it is sin. As for my house, we will come out from among the world and be separate!

Sorry Einstein, but Jeremiah 10.1-8 has nothing to do with sun worship or Christmas trees....and everything about idol making If you would care to study it out, the cutting down the tree and fastening with silver and Gold is about making an ashtaroth pole, or an Idol, not a Christmas Tree.
Its fine if you don't participate in Christmas, but don't use Jer 10.1-8 to stand on, because you are in error using it and so are many that use it to oppose Christmas.
We r th light of th world! And Christmas is just another great opportunity to b that light! Do u realize how much witnessing opportunity their is during not only on Christmas, but every holiday!
I respect ur opinion and don't believe in keeping any of th pagan root traditions of th holiday, myself. And also find it strange that Christian even got th idea to celebrate birth and mourn at a saints funeral, bcz th bible says quite different. Yet I celebrate this holiday in the way of being a light! As Christ became our light when He came to earth

Step 2 - Shows that Christ is six months younger than his cousin John the Baptist. Elisabeth (John the Baptist's mother) became pregnant during the time her husband served as priest. We will link this time to the Old Testament to find out what month that is.
Step 3 - Knowing the time of year that both Mary and Elisabeth (cousins) became pregnant, we then calculate the birth of Christ.

HAve you thought for a moment that the issue of Christmas being a "pagan holiday" is actully being promoted by pagans and non-believers who want to remove all aspect of Christ from CHRIST-Mass? B. According to Biblical times, the first month given to the Children of Israel is called Abib or which is now called Nisan in the Hebrew Calendar. This month is a remembrance to them when God took them out of the land of Egypt and into the Promise Land. This they would have to do every year as the Passover.
Exodus 13:4

Maybe you should quit driving the highway and read what I posted..never once called the tree's of Jeremiah 10 a Christmas tree and maybe you should study all about the winter solstice, the (yule) log and decking the tree with MOONS and SUNS, as well as the death of the old year and the bringing in of the new with the "return" of the sun that was practiced in the ancient world.

I for one use this "excuse" not to help Walmart clearing it's Christmas junk under $10.00, even $20.00 for that matter. Gift exchange has long become obligation and burden. That said, I'll send my address in PM so you may send presents.
I personally think to celebrate a physical birthday is as foolish. A 1000 year time span in God's eyes is listed as follows.
1. as a day
2. as but yesterday
3. as a watch in the night
All three are found in scriptures and to an eternal God it must seem rather foolish to celebrate from 1 to 969 years worth of birthdays as even Methuselah, the oldest living man in the bible, died. To answer your question, not in a long time.
