But he wasn't convinced that they Lord was NOT coming back. That is not what the parable says. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. Why was he afraid? Because he knew that the Lord was coming back. But he should have given it to the ones who would pay interest, and he did not do so.

If you listen to the lecture, you will understand that YES the wicked servant KNEW that the Lord was good, and KNEW that he was coming back.

But this wicked servant (a type of Satan, as if Satan himself is the one being put on trial here) is lying about.....everything. With a plan and purpose. To deceive as many as possible, and hide TRUTH of salvation and the TRUE message of salvation from anyone and everyone.

Furthermore, his arguments are a vain and fruitless attempt to "corner/condemn God".......just like the Pharisees were doing in their confrontations with Jesus. And more.......the wicked servant is condemning God as an unjust judge, Who is incapable and unworthy to judge his sin and rebellion.

And lots.....lots more. You really need to take about 5 or 6 hours and go thru the entire series of lectures to get the big picture.

These passages are describing Gods response to the many excuses of the wicked servant.

Rom 1:20
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Rom 1:21
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

IMO I see this taking place in the millennial reign when salvation by faith in Christ is no longer important because all will know Him. But works replaces faith

Someone is trying to complicate a simple parable, so I will pass. The lesson is that every believer is to use his talents, spiritual gifts, wealth, and opportunities to serve God and Christ, bring souls to Christ, edify other believers, and reach out to the neediest people -- "the lame. the halt, the maimed, and the blind". This is definitely not about Satan.

Mat 25:18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.

Mat 25:24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
Mat 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

Mat 25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

Mat 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

Mat 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

Mat 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

Mat 25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

It sounds like a story of labor for the kingdom of God or you will not be in a position for salvation for you are unprofitable not affecting souls for the kingdom.

It does not seem like it is about a person trying to hide the truth from people for he was afraid but why, and he confessed Christ, and they were all servants.

I would not read in to it too much.

Joh 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

This is the same thing that if you do not bear fruit then you will be cast away like the man with 1 talent that was unprofitable which he did not get to enter the kingdom.

1Co 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

The talent is a story of labor for the kingdom or no salvation.

I see you trashing a lot of scriptures

Titus 3:5
He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:9
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.

1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

Acts 16:31
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:13
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

No, I haven't heard the lectures so I will stand down and let others debate you. I do understand this is one of the hardest parables to understand. I could be wrong in my understanding.

This is a simple parable and Jesus explained it why invent a whole story and speculate about it

  • The talents symbolize the various gifts, abilities, and resources that God entrusts to each person. These can include spiritual gifts, natural talents, opportunities, knowledge, relationships, and material possessions.
  • The parable emphasizes that God expects his servants (believers) to actively use and multiply these gifts and resources for His kingdom and glory.
  • It demonstrates the concept of being responsible and faithful with what God has given, rather than wasting or neglecting it.
  • The parable teaches about the accountability that believers have before God. We are called to give an account of how we have used our talents and resources when we stand before Him.
it is that simple really.

IMO I see this taking place in the millennial reign when salvation by faith in Christ is no longer important because all will know Him. But works replaces faith

faith without works is dead, I agree with that writing;

Faith Without Works Is Dead
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Jas 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Yep. That would be the kindergarten version. The generic pablum of todays Church.

Tell me.....how does this parable tie into Achan of Joshua 7, Genesis 3, the parable of the servants and 10 virgins, Israel, the tribulation and end-time eschatology?

Because it does. And likewise connects with vastly more than that. Vastly, vastly more.
