Why do American Ladies Smile a lot?

I work with the government and mainly with the public. I have met people from different nations.
I notice that American Ladies smile a lot.
My niece is an American, born and raised in America, she smile a lot.

Recently, I went to visit an orphanage and I met a lady from America who is an American. As we were discussing, she was smiling the whole of our discussion. It was a lovely and an interesting discussion.
So, I want to ask if anyone knows why American Ladies smile a lot.

It's all that plastic surgery... they face be stuck that way :cool:

Well, that's probably true for some of them... you know, the high society babes.
 
I dont know.... I heared that America is very welcoming in contrast to other places. Like people will wave to you on the street... and wave a flag around.... and talk about freedom... lol i am american so I can say things like this
 
UInless of course you go to New York City... if yer friendly there they freak out!

It's a matter of perspective and what you are used to where you are from. I don't think American women smile all that much, but that's compared to other places I have been. There were places I went to in Eastern Europe where I saw loads of smiles from everyone. The Mediterranean as well. Parts of Asia were like that too, but other parts were not.
 
you hit right on the head Dread_Zeppelin, most people where I live are either very nice, or just plan mean. it is most of the northerners (s/p) are in a rush and on a time schedule. So, most of the time they don't have time to talk. They will most say Hi, how are you if they recognize a face.
 
I second this, girls are very rude or very nice. There is no middle ground where I live
 
I wouldn't call it rude, just more guarded. When people come up to me they generally want something. In a city there's a lot of mugging and assault. Can't tell you the amount of drunks and beggars. In the north if you get approached by strangers they either want to get your money or harass you
 
Something I have always noticed when I am walking around a grocery store,on the street and everywhere...Americans in general wear that wonderful smile and that's really nice... :) I guess that's how Americans show respect for another person :)

I think this may have something to do with the type of American woman you have met... I do not think it is a rule that American woman in general smile a lot..

Well try coming to NYC urban neighborhoods. Most people here are rude
