Well you are the one who is wrong

The verse youused proves this

Jesus said he NEVER knew them

If he never knew them, they were NEVER SAVED this NEVER a true believer

You are totally wrong! 1 Timothy 4:1 "1Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, ..." this faith is the true faith in Jesus. They had it once but then they departed from it. So they were true believer in the beginning but later they left it for some reasons (money, power, wealth, etc.)

!!! You said: "I would say "lacking of faith"means they were never saved." !!!
So in this case the chosen apostles by Jesus are not saved? They are saved and in heaven but they needed rebuking from the Lord to strengthen their faith.

NIV Mark 16:14
'14Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.'

KJV Mark 16:14
'14Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.'
You said the apostles were rebuked by JESUS to Strengthen their faith and then you posted a scripture that said they Lacked faith.
Doesn’t strengthen mean they had faith but It wasn’t strong faith and of course we both know that this faith Is talking about your walk In holiness and not salvation

The bible also talks about those who walked in the light but turned back to this word. Once they were Christians.
Would you post the scripture that says that In the New Testament.
The Bible also says that those who were born of Incorruptible seed will seek to purify themselves even as they are pure.

... Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? ...
They are Not Christians..... Just read what they are trying to justify themselves with. ""many wonderful WORKS?""

They belong to the WORKS salvation religions, Not Christianity..

They did not believe they where saved by what Jesus did on the cross.. Salvation is by believing in the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ..

Not by Works..

You obviously are not that bright or understand the bible...there is one gospel of salvation, not 2, 3 or 40.....and the bible is clear....to embellish the gospel with anything beyond FAITH ALONE voids the gospel....but you go ahead and keep believing there are numerous gospels hypocrite.....I caught the little word play on my name.....!!

See how the plenteous in number group works out for those religions that embellish the gospel beyond faith.....I fully expect you to not grasp the truth or point...!!
Cool beans. And Tootles.

One thing is fact, by this post, you have no idea what @dcontroversal believes
Nor do I care. Or what you believe either for that matter. Its not hard to see who you guys belong to. That goes for Angela and Undergrace as well.

Have fun replying. Everything is written in the Bible. All it takes is the Holy Spirit and discernment to see you for what you really are.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first"

This is from 2 Thessalonians 2. Seems like this falling away would be an answer. Anyone have an opinion to share on what this falling away is?

Hebrews
4 God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. 2 For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God. 3 For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said,
In my anger I took an oath:
‘They will never enter my place of rest,’

even though this rest has been ready since he made the world. 4 We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.” 5 But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest.”
6 So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. 7 So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted:
“Today when you hear his voice,
don’t harden your hearts.
8 Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come. 9 So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. 10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. 11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.

see this is not true

Because if you did not care what DC or anyone believes, you would not continue to misrepresent them then continue to spat on about it when you are confronted about your mistake.

The pharisees thought they knew scripture too. And they thought scripture pointed to Jesus as a heretic and a false teacher.

Discernment is a must,,

I think we see it today, Churches, which at one time were God fearing, are turning away, or fallowing away from God. The true church, or any church which holds the true gospel which leads to salvation, Is getting smaller and smaller and smaller.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider the "true church" to be?

the body of Christ, the born again church, The church that teaches the true gospel of Christ, which leads people to true salvation.

If your asking what denomination, any denomination which does this is part of the true church.

That`s an evasive answer but if you don`t want to say, that`s fine.

as apposed to those who are not part of the body ie, the church is a spiritual body, not a physical local church

the born again church,
As apposed to those who go to church or churches who are not born again

The church that teaches the true gospel of Christ, which leads people to true salvation.
As apposedto those who teach the "other gospel" of galations 1, which leads to hell

how is it evasive?

please explain?
I certainly recall you accusing me of not answering questions. Do as you say not as you do I guess.
I`m sure you have opinions on a lot of denominations if not all of them. Just wondering, it`s not important.

FYI the term "fall away" as it is used in Bible is apostasy, complete abandonment of believing in Christ. It`s not about bad doctrine.
Sometime in the future there will be a collapse of faith among many Chrisitans.

Yet I answered your question. So not sure where this is coming from.

A denomination is a particular type of church, The bible does not talk about denomination, It spoke of a church or body of believers in a particular city (like the church at Rome, or the church at Corinth, or the church at Ephesus)

The only difference today is that church in each city meet in different places in different denominations. Yet just like in those days, there were false churches (gatherings) also. who proclaimed christ, only today, those groups also are composed of different denominations

remember, the term church means a gathering, or a group of people who gather together in an assembly. Sadly today, people here it and think they mean a church building which is a building where a particular denomination meets.

John said that people who claimed to believe in Chrit but now no longer believe in christ have never been saved (in his words, they were never OF US, for if they WERE OF US they never would have departed ,they departed to PROVE they were never of us)

ie. they went to church and were considered part of the church, but now have fallen away, because they NO LONGER BELIEVE IN CHRIST, yet they never had faith in christ, because if they did, they never would have fallen away.

I never said it was a doctrinal issue, so not sure why you would think I have..

you have not understood a word I said

But I have grown use to this. It seems to be a habit

just to help you understand,

the first point I spoke of the spiritual church (hence why I used the term spiritual)

the second point, I spoke of physical local churches.

so no. I did not refute myself with anything, Your continued refusal to try to understand is where they problem lies.
