ummm I kind of like my neighborhood.
we aren't rich there are few streets with trailers but you can take a walk around the neighborhood without worrying about perverts. the cops know us by name and all the neighbors are friendly and will look out for you. when our dog gets loose someone will bring her back instead of calling the dog catchers. my son raised $200 dollars walking door to door for the MS society bike ride he was in last year by just walking around our neighborhood for a couple days. If I'm a few minutes late the other moms will wait around and get my son off the school bus and we babysit for each other and have dinner whenever we have some free time and our schedules allow it, which isn't as often as any of us would like.
I don't know. perhaps I don't notice the bad stuff, my husband tells me I tend to be oblivious when it comes to things like that. I like looking at the positive stuff more. I just thank God for surrounding us with loving and caring people who look out for each other.
When I was pregnant with my daughter the mom's club I was apart of throw a baby shower and they brought dinner for us for a week after her birth. There are soup kitchens, meals on wheels for the elderly, habitat for humanity for those in need of homes, Matthew ministries that provide food for needy families, and many more worthwhile programs and charities.
I wished I had time to go to the Kicks for Christ meetings which is free Tae Kwon Do classes given by a deacon on the church. They bring Bible verses to each class and are taught self control and other Biblical values.
I know the world is not perfect but at the same time there are some who are trying to let the light of God shine through them and their lives. I like spending time with those people.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
love you lil sis. hugs.
