Why do you wish Jesus in your life?

What do you fancy that Jesus will do for you?

  • “he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.” (Proverbs 2.7,8).

In this verse, we can see four things that Jesus plan on doing in our life through His wisdom:

  • *He is a shield* -> it comes the question: do we really desire His protection against the evil or only against its aftermaths?
  • *He watches over the way of His saints* -> Do we wish that He hedges up our way with thorns and build a wall against us, so that we cannot find our paths (when our ways are bad - Hosea 2.7)? Or do we wish remove His prohibitive hedge (meditate on Isaiah 5.5) so that we can enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin (Hebrews 11.25)?
  • *He guards the paths of justice* ->
  • do we want the "justice" of the world against those who hurt us? Or do we want the "justice of the kingdom of Jesus", which enables us to give our lives so that our enemies will come to know Jesus and eat His banquet with us (Psalms 23.5)?
  • *He stores up sound wisdom* -> do we yearn for His wisdom in order to be free to make decisions apart from Jesus? Or do we yearn for His presence and wish that He leads us each moment and protecting us from ourselves, our ways and our bogus sense of justice?

So, let’s seek out Jesus as our precious reward (Genesis 15.1), that is to say, as our likelihood of walking in the way of light in order to be purified from the all iniquity (1John 1.7) and able to abide in the eternal dwellings (to wit, the heart of people that believe in Jesus – Luke 16.9).
