I'm reading a book called "21 Reasons Bad Things Happen to Good People" by David Earley. It's a good informative and interesting book (whether you believe everything in it or not). However what really got to me was chapter 2 where the chapter is titled "to win an unseen victory". He references the book of Job where it says Job was a perfect and righteous man as well being very wealthy. Satan appears before God in heaven and challenges God saying "he only loves you because all that you given him". We all know the story that follows. Job got everything taken away from him but never cursed out God. The author then states that the challenge laid out by Satan still exists. God allows bad things to happen to good people especially Christians to prove the point that us Christians will never turn our backs on him despite our troubles and everything that we go through. If we go through a struggle never blame God, always praise him and pray for him to be with us. What we do is prove Satan wrong in that he believes we only love God for what he gives us. We should never turn our backs on God when something doesn't go our way. Always praise him and worship him forever. We are part of an unseen victory. We prove we Christians love God more than what we have.

Bad things happen to us so that we can grow more in our faith. The challenges are laid so that we can learn to trust God regardless of what is happening in our lives. If we stay faithful to him, the fruit of the challenge is often times much more than we have ever dreamed of. Stick it out knowing and believing that God has better and greater things in store for you.
