I never said that God doesn't ever heal. I believe God can do whatever He wants except work contrary to His will and character. You are teaching that you can just use God as if He was your magic genie or something, that you can just make God do something according to your faith and will. This IMO is very dangerous teaching, it is setting people up for failure and emotional distress. If God chooses not to heal, you blame on the person for their lack of faith. That person's faith could have been just fine but God had a purpose for not healing/moving other then bending to your will. Thus the person starts questioning their faith and why that lack it, what's it going to take to boost my faith?, so that God will do what I want.
I think you've been listening to too many TV "so called" evangelists.
I don't get that from Joanmarie's post at all, that she is defining G-d as a "magic genie".
the Greater Works will be shared with and by those who know Him, not just know about Him, as He said in these days,

And I never said you said "God never heals". Yes., you and many other Christians of course believe that God can heal He is God and CAN DO whatever He pleases. But what you fail to realize is God wants us to ask and ask in faith believing that He will DO JUST AS HE PROMISES. Since He said He would heal., expect Him to do as He said He would and see Him Heal. And should it not happen in the second you ask., persist in believing He is doing right along what He said yet we don't see it completely in the natural yet. We need to keep on believing and keep on walking IN that faith believing. He is healing some 10.,some 15., some 20..., some 22... fold healing until He finishes healing 100%. But we are admonished to keep ON believing as we go about our lives.
When ever other Christians get annoyed at me and annoyed at other Christians like me for believing in healing for instance... they always always use that same phrase you did... that God is being used as a genie.
No., I'll tell you what IS a dangerous thing., it is dangerous for a believer NOT to take God at His Word and walk by faith and not by sight. It's dangerous NOT to have a great expectation that He will do just according to what He has said He would do in our lives.
It's always dangerous when we do not believe. Only not believing will cause Him to not do what He promised because He requires us to participate by our belief IN Him and not our own understanding... He requires us to Trust in the Lord with all your heart and to lean NOT to our own understanding. In all our ways we are to acknowledge Him.... and HE WILL direct our paths. This is where we want to be but we won't be there unless we Trust in the Lord and BELIEVE WHAT HE SAYS.
And there is no room for not believing Him. There is no room for saying in our hearts... "oh...what if God doesn't do what He said He would do? Then what will "I" do if He doesn't come through as He said? I better have a plan B." NOOOO There IS NO PLAN B. There is only God's plans for us that are always good and right. He says He has a hope and a future for us. Believe it and walk without fear in this life. There will be fear when we doubt He will show up in our lives and do as He promises He will do. He is our Good Shepherd Who promises we shall not want. Read Psalm 23 as it is meant for us living Christians not for dead people at a funeral.
When we start having a plan B.. God will let us walk in our own plans because that is what we chose to do. He will step back and allow us to walk in our plan B. THAT my friend is a dangerous place to be. I've been there and that is very dangerous. Plan B's are dangerous places for us Christians so when we start to doubt God and try to figure out another way to do this life.... STOP...GO BACK... WRONG WAY..... Trust in the Lord and be persistent as you walk... He is faithful and will do according to what He promises to do. He loves you and will always always take care of you. What is also needed is to find out what His promises are for us and to claim them as He tells us to do. Not doubt Him and His good intentions for us. He is always for us and not against us. He is glorified in our lives when we walk by faith in Him and His provisions. When we trust His love for us and His hand leading in our lives. He seeks people to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. The new and living way is by faith.

So, where in scripture do we see Jesus and His Apostles... using doctors and medicine?
What you are speaking of is no miracle of God... but rather a roll of the dice with medical science that so far seems to be working out.
Many go to the doctor and die anyway or become worse off than they were and now they're broke.
Personally, I get my health and healing directly from the Lord for myself... most people want to argue about what God's Word teaches about this so they reject what He says and opt to roll the dice with medical science, kinda like gambling in vegas... sometimes ya win and sometimes ya don't.... but you always gotta pay when ya lose

Our tribulations are often brought on by our own unbelief that HE will NOT do what He says He will do. Our tribulations come from the world., the flesh and the devil. Those things will always be here while we are on earth. When we listen to those things we are then going to have those horrible tribulations that leave us hopeless and very very helpless. But when we trust in the Lord., He said when we are weak in our flesh that is when we are strong IN HIM. We will mount up with wings as eagles... we will run and not be weary and faint.
Paul and Timothy suffered health problems all the time, and Luke was Paul's Doctor and traveled with him everywhere.

Oh please I'm not Job's wife. I never said to curse God and die. Good heavens this gets tedious on CC sometimes as we contend for the faith. God does not send us sickness or death. He sent Jesus who solved the problem of sin and sickness and death. Jesus brings us life and that more abundant. Yes., in this world we will have tribulation BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER Jesus said "I" have overcome the world. And how do we overcome? By our faith IN Him. We are more than conquerors because of Him Who loves us.

glad to hear that you weren't addressing me personally as a Job's wife type. 
But I do believe as Christians we will see the beauty of the Lord and indeed have a beautiful life each day and we will see many miracles including those of provisions. And yes., we will also be fighting the good fight of faith while here on earth and will be dealing with the world., the flesh and the devil. But as stated in the Bible; Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. We are more than conquerors and can count on Him to take care of us better than we can ourselves. Depending on that will also include a beautiful life full of miracles. Yes., evil things come to everyone but we hold to His promises. I personally have found Psalm 91 full of supernatural protection in the center of the storm because of Jesus., the Good Shepherd.
The joy of the Lord is our strength. We are promised His joy and peace while here. We can't lose because He already won.

Besides, I follow Jesus Christ and He never got sick... He is the One you should be following, not Paul or Luke.
Jesus took my infirmities and sicknesses upon Himself so I would not have to bare them, and I ain't!
So, since you believe you are supposed to be sick and trust the abilities of mankind to deal with it... satan has an open door in to your life to bring sickness and disease... so, don't bother praying for healing or relief cause you are the one who rejected what God says on this which is what opens the door to the enemy to attack your health and your finances cause being sick gets very, very expensive.

Show me where God issues a call to action to His people to not come to Him for health / healing and instead it's His desire to trust in the ability of mankind to deal with sickness... show me some scripture where God tells His people this.

I had an experience where I believe the Lord was teaching me something about getting an answer to prayer. I was in this church for a couple of years and they would call folks up for prayer and everyone would pray in tongues and so help me, I don't think I ever really seen an answer to prayer. Then I went to this small church where the Pastor worked full time and he would agree with people in prayer and it was amazing, he would just make a simple request and that is all and with amazing speed the actual answers would happen. You know it is really amazing to pray and then see it happen quickly and know that there is no way in the world that it could have happened except by the power of God.
It’s not so much that it is not there, but is hid in the parables. God heals the unbeliever just as he sends rain on the rain on a born again Christian called "common grace", beginning at birth entering into the world with spirit life and not a still born.
Not eating foods neccesaary to substain our bodies of death do not bring a person closer to God. Closer to God, no, death yes .
The saving grace represented as metaphors used in parables is the supernatural representing of the gospel not seen. In the end both die of an incurable disease called sin, a dead body without a spirit the witness a person was under the wrath of God all the days of there life under the sun. .
Its why by fasting from foods that cannot enter our hearts like with disciples could not cast out the lying spirits called demons. The true fast is to bring the good news using the metaphors in various parables to represent the unseen spiritual healing. John’s concerns went past the last breath he would take. He was not asking Jesus to send a legion of angels and kill the competition as if he walked by sight.
