As an older person, I have seen too many of my contemporaries left helpless when their spouse passes on. The husband has no idea how to do basic housework; the wife has no idea how to handle basic finances. And they have no idea od how to copw with their own company. I have been single for 15 years, and I like it. I am dependent on no one; I like my own company, and since I am no longer yoked to an unbeliever, I can study the Bible, indulge in Christian chat rooms and such to my heart's content. I have raised my children, worked hard all my life, even done my bit for my country. I spend my time preparing for the Lord.
 
me i really love being single a spiritual monastic life in my monastary apartment amen-eth allways amen-eth....
 
For now I feel I have all around more time to actually read what is in the Bible and find out the message of what is in there as early as possible. I actually have time to think and examine areas of my life to focus on areas where I can improve on. I was sort of skeptical at first, but I feel I have changed dramatically for the better every year that passes. So much truth from the Bible has been revealed to me in my free time.
