Why is Adam not mentioned in Cain’s geniality, nor Cain in Adam’s?

At the very end of Gen 4, the reader is informed that it was then begun to call upon the Name of Yahweh.
Gen 5 then proceeds to highlight the names of the males who thus called upon the Name of Yahweh.
Obviously, Cain was not one of those individuals...

I really don't know what you're talking about. Adam is mentioned at the beginning of Chapter 4. Adam isn't mentioned in Cain's genealogy itself though because by then, Cain is already very much a married adult and it's about his child and Cain's ungodly bloodline. Cain isn't mentioned in Chapter 5 because it's concerned with the genealogy of the godly Seth, from whom the Jewish people eventually descended. And Seth was born long after his brothers, Cain and Abel and at least some of his unnamed sisters.
Because even as cain is alive and should have taken the position of the next oldest son, seth is considered one in the likeness of his father and takes the position of a son who brings forth the line. Even Eve notes this when she says, GOD has given me a son, because cain killed Abel. She acknowledges that cain is alive, but she does not acknowledge him as belonging any longer to the family line...
If you look at the genealogy in Genesis, each son mentioned is after his father's likeness...and Adam begat seth, in his likeness, and seth begat ________in his likeness. And so forth and so on.
Until we get to the table of nations, it is further stressed that physical order and anything according to physical flesh does NOT take any precedence over GOD'S call...
The sons of Noah mentioned as the one's who carried forth the genealogy, are noted not even based on their birth order, but because they are likened to their father as a son in the likeness of their father...
So, for instance, even as the sons mentioned are physically in order, the son to carry forward the genealogical line was not necessarily the first son...

Right, and the entire chapter of Genesis 5 includes the specific line of the promised seed of Genesis 3:15. This is the whole reason Noah was saved aboard the ark. Noah's generations were perfect and had not been corrupted by the sons of God.
Noah's generation was not perfect.
Cursed is Canaan, the son of Ham?

Because Ham went out and announced his father's "nakedness"
Genesis 6:9, These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Noah's generations leading back through chapter 5 to Seth were preserved by God being kept perfect and not perverted by the sons of God.
The Hamites were not very godly...
The "sons of god" those "nephilim" which you are referring to were completely wiped out...
Ham is responsible for his own sin...which was uncovering his father's nakedness and announcing it to his brothers.
he should have done the work of a priest before GOD and provide the covering...just like his brothers did.

Agreed, but all perfect means biblically is whole, complete, and not lacking. The line of Adam through Seth to Noah was kept in whole and was not corrupt. Yes, sin was alive and well on the ark, but that has nothing to do with the pure blood line of Adam when talking about the generations being perfect. It's all about the promised seed of Genesis 3:15. The whole entire Old Testament is about the preservation of the promised seed of Genesis 3:15. Satan on the attack and God protecting it.

That's not what the Bible teaches. The promised seed was under attack from Satan, because it would spring from Seth's bloodline. But that only means that some of his descendants were godly, not that the whole bloodline were. Also, Noah was perfect in his generations doesn't have anything to do with corrupted DNA or anything (at least beyond the curse of sin on all creation), but it has to do with his complete and utter devotion to God in a world where humanity had given itself over to evil and great violence.
