I like to say (type) prolly, also. But I would prolly not if Scripture was the subject matter .
I saw someone say once that they hated it when people did that. Eh? Really?? Hate??? .
I have a few different takes on this but the most glaring of how I would read and understand this. Is that it was indisputable divine confirmation. The day before chapter 16, Christ had asked who do men say I am and their answer was Elijah or one of the prophets. Peter when asked who he saw Jesus as he said the Christ the son of God. Christ let him know the Father had revealed that. So the next day God confirmed again that Christ was the son.
They saw with their own eyes the prophet's and the son and heard God himself say that Christ was his son. So God confirmed and revealed even more so the next day what he had revealed the day prior. They being Jews would have also placed upmost importance on what the prophets said.
So God was showing the authority of the son and his words much more authoritative. As when the son and the prophet's were gathered in one place God said hear his son. So God was confirming Christ was the son and he had final authoritative power and say.
1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
If the spirit of God was at mount Sinai that makes him the water.Jesus is the blood.But the father has given everything unto the Son.
Ephesians 1:20-23
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The Holy Spirit that comes in the name of Jesus is in you.That's the mercy seat.The head of the church is Jesus.That's the blood.The water is the feet.Jesus is on the right hand of the father like it says in scripture.
Another thing is when Moses holds up the serpent on the pole,he is holding the branch.Jesus says he'll raise it up.Meaning he'll raise up the corrupted body/brazen serpent.Then he says he'll raise him up,meaning he'll raise you up, like he did the serpent.
When he says he'll raise you up.the pole is raising up the serpent.It's the image of the branch.And Moses holds the branch.So he's at the transfiguration as the blood.Elijah is there as the water.The Two Witnesses=water and the blood, and the 144,000 hold the testimony.
They are put to death and refused burial afterwards.
