Why Shouldn't Women Make "The First Move"?

I can't see a thing without my glasses...but I don't wear them because they make my nose hurt. :(
 
Personally I don't mind if a woman pursues a guy. Hey, you find me attractive and want to get to know me? Then go for it, don't wait around on me. Maybe I never saw you across the sanctuary or when we were both in Barnes and Nobles. Make yourself known, and make it known youre interested.

hahhahaaha.. I love you guys so much .......... y'all are all so funny. I don't think its a sin to show someone you're interested in them, but like Alexis said ... if he wants a relationship.. I'd rather he be the one to initiate .

I think, the word 'initiate,' or, as, artyiste said in title, 'make the first move' is quite a vague way of saying things.
There is nothing wrong with the girl doing all kinds of things, signs, to let the guy KNOW she really likes him.
Hey, go for it , KNOCK yourself out doing that :)

But, the actual 'ask,' of saying, 'WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME,' said in so many words similar, or, those exact words that a QUESTION WORD like 'will' starts the sentence-- and, I've done several threads on this topic, those on here who know me know my strong feelings on this topic--IS for the guy to GO DO :)

Hey, I don't even care if the girl says, 'I think, we are funny together,' she says, let's say, after she's told you a joke and you've LAUGHED at it, or, vice versa. So, again, go for it, KNOCK yourself out, miladies,with clues, hints, that are Godly, of course, but, yeah, let that guy know you like him, just don't ASK HIM OUT . :)

Again, I don't want to make those ladies who've already asked a guy out feel badly but, as a RULE, the guy should ask the girl out NO MATTER how shy he is. Again, pray, the Lord leads, there are ALWAYS exceptions to the rule. :)

Let your plans be known to the Lord, ladies, do what is seemingly His will for you regarding a guy you like and go for it, KNOCK YOURSELF OUT :)

That's pretty much the way to do it :) That's the way I've learned it from those in my church.

I wasn't raised in church, and didn't really know anybody that attended any church other than the Catholic church (and I do not believe Catholicism is Christianity); growing up as I did, I tried to become acquainted with the ways of the world (even if I never had a girlfriend, or even kissed haha); therefore, when I became a believer, and the Lord renewed my mind, I knew that all of the ways of the world were not the will of God, including the way relationships are initiated. This is still my view, and the view I will teach.

And so I've yet to court anyone (lol), but you are not crazy-- you're one among many that strive to please God and maintain a godly appearance, for the good of the self (as you mentioned, because of temptation), and to the glory of God.

They should make themselves known.

He lived 2 and 1/2 hours away at the time so we didn't immediately go out on a date and this was 1996 there was no Skype so we emailed and talked on the phone. When he came home from school for break we went on a date.

We had met many times before this, so we knew each other, he wasn't a stranger to me, or I to him.

I'm glad I called him. I hope he is to. :confused:

When you say "make themselves known", do you mean dropping hints and/or flirting, or do you mean flat out saying "Hey, I like you?"

I have answers to both of the "why don't they" (at least, from my own understanding) but I figured I'd get what you mean by that first.

I meant it in context to what Nautilus had said.
