Why so great haste to get free of the problems?
• Pro 20:25 -> “It is a snare to say rashly, “It is holy,” and to reflect only after making vows.”.
Our mouth is a great problem:
• Pro 18:7 -> “A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul.”.
• Jas 3:7-9 -> “For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God.”.
There are two circumstances which constitutes a temptation to our mouth. And the solution can be seen below:
1 – before the wicked:
• Psa 38:12-15 -> “Those who seek my life lay their snares; those who seek my hurt speak of ruin and meditate treachery all day long. But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear, like a mute man who does not open his mouth. I have become like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth are no rebukes. But for you, O LORD, do I wait; it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.”.
2 – before the Creator when in praying, in order to procure something:
• Ecc 5:1 -> “Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.”.
As we can see, the best thing to do is to wait for Jesus until He speaks with us and show us how we should behave so that He can use us to pray correctly (Rom 8:26) and manifest His power and grace.
So, have a good day letting Jesus be with your mouth (as He desired to do with Moses’ – Exodus 4:11,12). Recollect that only He is the true witness (Rev 3:14) whose words has power to transform the reality.
