First, God commands every Christian to read and study His Word. This should be the ultimate reason why we should study the Bible, but we also draw closer to our Lord when we read and study diligently helping us to witness to people. Studying the Bible prepares us for obstacles that we may face during our walk with God by giving us knowledge and guidance to the truth of His Word, which is often distorted by false teachers of this world. Its our Christian duty to live out our lives according to God's truth in His Word, but the truth will only be revealed to those with the desire to know His Word, which is in proportion to how much we actually study it......If we study about 2 minutes a week, He will reveal 2 minutes worth! Study diligently, praying, and meditate on His Word as it helps us grow with Jesus!
2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness." All scripture is "God breathed." This passage is very important to read and understand, because many will say Christians are not supposed to judge other Christians. This is true under the right context, meaning we can't judge one's heart on whether or not they are saved and will spend an eternity in Heaven or Hell. But what this piece of scripture is telling us is that we can let God's Word help us in its "profit for doctrine,"(tell people about Jesus Christ); "for reproof"(to tell one what their doing wrong); "for correction"(help and show them how to correct that wrong); "for instruction in righteousness) teaching how to live a Christian life. Very important: we do all these things out of love and grace, never condemning them with fire and brimstone.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 Stay firm in what we learn from God's Word.
Romans 12:2 Studying the Bible helps us stay obedient so that we may not conform to the unrighteous ways of the world, "transforming by the renewing of your mind."
God Bless Everyone!!!
