This is an "apparent' contradiction in Scripture. Study it. Read it. Write the souls down as given in Genesis 46. The Genesis account is the number of immediate souls that went in to Egypt. The Acts account includes those souls in the extended family which included those born to Pharez and Beriah.
Believing the words of God is not idol worship. I believe God has preserved His words in the English language in the KJV. That's believing God at His word not idol worship. Do you believe God's word?
Do any of you defend the word of God? If so, which words? If you're out witnessing and a lost person asks you the following question how would you respond: "Hey man, do you really believe every word in that Bible you hold? Can you trust every word to be true?" If you don't trust every word to be true, why should they trust the Savior of the word?
Not "in Scriptures", but in KJV. That is a difference.
LXX has 75 in Genesis 46:27.
And you probably know, that the first church and apostles used LXX as their OT.
But KJV translators used a different source for OT, thats why you will have many contradictions between your OT and your NT which quotes different version of OT you dont have.

I believe in God's word and I also trust that the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to me, no matter what version I study or read....I mean after-all, he is the Spirit of Truth....
So let me ask you a serious question based on a very probable scenario. You are on vacation somewhere in the world and you and your family are kidnapped for ransom money. You and your family had no time to grab one of your precious KJV Bibles.
You finally arrive at the camp they are going to keep you at until ransom is paid. As a token of good will they throw you a Bible and it is a English NLT version. Are you going to refuse it, because your faith is in the KJV or faith in the Holy Spirit who will guide you into all truth and you will read the NLT?
You will most likely huff and puff and blow this down as silly and stupid, but it is based on a real life issue that a real life KJ only missionary faced and God used it to open his eyes about versions. The man came back forever changed after reading a NASB version of the Bible for the 9 months he was held captive. He said he would not touch for the first 2 months, but sadly learned in his debating about version, he never hid those true words in his heart.
If I were the beast, I would also seek to divide believers based on Bible version, because OUR enemy the devil loves to divide and isolate the body of Christ.
Exactly, so how does he divide? Provide more than one Bible claiming to be the word of God to get people to question, has God really said that?
Do you consider the NLT the Holy Bible, the pure words of God without error? Or just another translation riddled with errors?
At least a half dozen Bibles were produced long before the KJV was even an idea. By your very own words, one of them must have been "the pure words of God", because the KJV was nothing more than an addition to the Books God already provided us.

Why would I accept something that I know is corrupt? As a believer, I'm better off without it. The question should be, what does God think about a Bible posing as His word?
Yep, the KJV was the seventh in the purification process. God's perfect number of completeness.

Malarkey. That's cherry-picking a verse which reinforces your position while disregarding anything that refutes it.
This discussion is silly. It'll never, ever, ever get solved. I have my own reasons for preferring KJV to other translations, but none of them hover around the KJV being "perfect" and all others being crap. That's just ridiculous.
I actually have the NLT and it is much easier for me to read than the KJV. And here comes the "you haven asked for the Holy Spirit" type comments from folks that worship... err, I mean... support the KJV.
I certainly give you credit for being your own man, and being honest about this whole thing. I also have my preferences, (actually, sometimes the KJV is one), and it never is because I consider just one of my choices God's only word.

I would not want to read the Bible named for example Dictator Stalin Version, no matter how good it would be... its hard to imagine such book would be perfect and the only one from God.

Brother, at least those of us KJV guys DO have a real and tangible Book that we hold out to the world as the absolute Standard of Final Written Authority from God, and we don't have to pretend to be something we are not. We really do believe in a tangible Bible you can hold in your hands, read and believe every word.
