Why try to live firmed in ourselves (our capacity, strength, etc)?
• Pro 20:24 -> “A man's steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?”.
One of the great problems of ours is to try to establish our life based on what we can figure out and control. The fear of the unknown imprison us. Nonetheless, it is useless to try to establish our own destiny:
• Act 17:28 -> “for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
• Jer 10:23 -> “I know, O LORD, that the way of man is not in himself, that it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.”.
If we pray to Jesus in order to find out His plans for us and submit ourselves to them, we will avoid many distresses:
• Pro 16:9 -> “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”.
Furthermore, nobody better to establish our steps than the One Who created us. Nonetheless, for this, we need to find delight in His presence and commandments (Ps 37:4):
• Psa 37:23 -> “The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way;”.
In addition to this, we need to recall that Jesus’ will is good, acceptable and perfect (Rom 12:2).
So, the better thing is to fear the Creator so that He can teach us His way:
• Psa 25:12 -> “Who is the man who fears the LORD? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.”.
In the end, what we do of the better is to seek Jesus’ wisdom so that we can discern our way (Pro 14:8 – recognizing Jesus in it – Prov 3:5,6) and have a good day praying to Jesus:
• Psa 25:4 -> “Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.”.
• Pro 20:24 -> “A man's steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?”.
