It is interesting (and significant) to note that while all of creation was spoken into existence, Adam was not. "Through faith we understand that the world were framed by the Word of God" (Heb 11:3). Here "Word of God" speaks of Christ (who is the living Word of God) as well as His spoken creative words. There was no Periodic Table at that time, and none of the elements existed.

God has infinite wisdom and in His wisdom He chose to create the first man from the dust of the ground. There are several reasons:

1. Adam would be called "the son of God" -- because he would be a direct and personal creation of God. Thus the genealogy of Christ ("the only begotten Son of God") would begin with Adam.
Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. (Luke 3:38)

2. Adam would be the only creature who possessed a spirit -- that component of mankind that can communicate and fellowship with God directly. So when God breathed His breath into Adam, it was not merely for physical existence, but also for spiritual existence.
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening Spirit." (1 Cor 15:45)

3. Adam would be a "type" of Christ as well as the antithesis of Christ. "
The first man is of the earthy, earthy. The Second Man is the Lord from Heaven" (1 Cor 15:47)

4. When Eve was created out of one rib of Adam and taken out of his side, she represented the Church, which came into existence through the blood and water of Christ crucified.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof (Gen 2:21)

5. When God presented Eve as the bride of Christ, that represented the Church as the Bride of Christ.
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. (Gen 2:22)

6. When God told Adam that he was dust and return to dust, that prefigured the burial of all the saints in their graves.
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Gen 3:19) They all returned to dust, not dust and ashes, or simply ashes. Hence the importance of Christian burial became a reality.

7. But the saints are not simply buried to remain as dust forever. God promised through Christ the resurrection of all the saints at the Resurrection/Rapture. This would be so that they would live with God and Christ eternally in perfect, glorious, immortal, light-emanating glorified bodies. Thus we have these Scriptures:
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1 Cor 15:51-55)

Then we have this:
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thess 4:13-18)

God wants His saints to have the comfort and hope of a resurrection from dust to immortality. Thus Adam was created out the dust of the ground, and given a body, a soul and a spirit:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Gen 2:7)

And it is only by the grace and mercy of God and the finished redemptive work of Christ that we have this hope and this guarantee of eternal life. Adam failed God and humanity but Christ was victorious over sin, death, Hades Hell, and Satan.

Remember Him before the silver cord is snapped and the golden bowl is crushed, before the
pitcher is shattered at the spring and the wheel is broken at the well, before the dust returns

to the ground from which it came and the spirit returns to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

Acts 7:59
While they were stoning him, Stephen appealed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

Numbers 27:16
"May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation

Job 34:14-15
If He were to set His heart to it and withdraw His Spirit and breath,
all flesh would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Job 32:8

Genesis 41:38
So Pharaoh asked them, "Can we find anyone like this man, in whom the Spirit of God abides?"

Adam was a soul.
The culmination and objective of the entire creation exercise.

That's what caused God to be even more personally and intimately involved with the creation of mankind. The breath of God was placed within him personally and intimately to give him life. Meaning without that intimacy with God mankind has no life. (Speaking also requires breath...but that's not what Adam got)

Where is this written?
Read your Bible. Why did God breathe into Adam but no other creature? How did God have fellowship with Adam if his spirit was not alive? God speak of the composition of humans as (1) spirit (2) souls, nd (3) bodies. Paul tells us that the spirits of sinners are dead until they are quickened through the New Birth. It is all written for those who care to read what is written.

Of course human beings sin. But that is not the point of this thread. Of course Adam was the first man who sinned and brought sin and death on the human race. But the point is that at his creation God breathed into him and he became a living soul. And living souls are closely connected to living spirits. Without a living spirit there is no communication with God. Hence the necessity of the New Birth.

I gave some Scripture verses which you have ignored. Just as you ignore verses I have given which
have proven you wrong in the past, occurrences which are really adding up. Recently it was twice
in one day you were wrong, and though you want others to acknowledge being corrected and
express gratitude and tender apologies etc etc you never have with me.

Job recognized that man has a spirit in Job 32:8, and Job 34:14-15.

Paul affirms this in I Corinthians 2:11

This spirit in man comes from God (Zechariah 12:1) and returns to Him when we die (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Acts 7:59).

And again in Psalm 31:5, which Jesus quoted from the cross.

Perhaps you need to read your Bible.

Why did God breathe into Adam but no other creature?
Wrong again. Animals have the same breath of life the mankind does, given by God.

The breath of life is something that mankind shares with all living creatures that breathe.

Genesis 1:30 - all the creatures created on the sixth day have the breath of life

Genesis 6:17 - all the creatures destroyed by the flood had the breath of life

Genesis 7:22, 15 - all the animals on Noah's ark had the breath of life

Numbers 16:22, 27:16 - breath of life exists in all people

Joshua 10:40 - Joshua destroyed all the cattle and animals that had the breath of life

Ecclesiastes 3:19 - all men and beasts have the same breath of life

You need to read your Bible.

A spirit lives inside of a body that makes a living soul

Like this what is man ?

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, ( body )

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. (living spirit )

and man became a living soul.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Man is a living soul God created us then put his spirit in us and gave us life this makes us a living soul it’s what we are

We have a spirit and a body of flesh the flesh is corrupt l

“to deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh,

that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our body of flesh and blood is doomed bound to die because of sin.

“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:50‬ ‭

but our spirits can be saved and won’t die like our flesh and blood

“it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And so it is written, The first Man Adam was made a living soul;

the last Man was made a quickening spirit.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:49‬ ‭

“to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a spirit is higher than a living soul like a butterfly that flies is higher than a caterpillar that crawls

We aren’t being saved to repeat this earthly but to live the heavenly with the father who is spirit

living soul is the caterpillar phase spirit of Gods son is the butterfly phase

All living creatures have a spirit, only man has a soul.
You are using Ecclesiastes to back up your ideas? What a man says "under the sun" is almost totally false, and Ecclesiastes exposes the falsehoods believed by men devoid of the truth. But I will not digress to discuss that book.

Christians need to see something deeper in this verse: "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening Spirit." (1 Cor 15:45)

Firstly who was "the LORD God" who created Adam? That designation used for both the Father and the Son. But since no man has seen God the Father, it was the pre-incarnate Christ who created Adam.

Secondly, Christ is called "a quickening Spirit" -- a life-giving Spirit. That means one who gives spiritual life to those with physical life. So when Christ breathed into Adam's nostrils the breath of life, that was not simply physical life. He also gave him spiritual life. This is the true meaning of making Adam "a living soul", since the soul and spirit are closely bound together, yet distinct.

The spirit is that part of man which can have fellowship with God and comprehend spiritual things. Adam (and Eve) had fellowship with Christ in the Garden of Eden, But the day that Adam sinned, he lost that. He hid himself from Christ. "On that day you shall surely die" was spiritual death, since Adam lived for 930 years.

Context, context, context...

44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

The Lord became flesh and dwelt among us in a natural body. He was raised a spiritual body with flesh and bones. In our resurrection, we will have a spiritual body like the Lord's resurrected body.

Man is a tri-part being: body, soul, and spirit. Man's soul is eternal. The spirit is given by God to bring life to the body. When a man dies, his spirit returns to God, the giver of life. Man's soul is what's at stake.

Nehemiah contradicts himself. He has said many times man is a tripartite being, body, soul, and spirit.

Now he is saying man does not have a spirit.

God created man as a tripartite being with a body, a soul, and a spirit.
Man is a tripartite being -- body, soul and spirit
Human beings are tripartite -- body, soul and spirit.
Man is a tripartite being consisting of body, soul, and spirit.

this is incorrect.
the same language of the breath of life, and living soul, is used to describe every animal - but not plants.
