I was just talking with a friend over the phone at lunch about a wierd adventure we'd had YEARS ago. I would love to read some of your wierd adventures. Please share! :D
****************************************************************

This is the one we were talking about:

A bunch of us (mostly cops) wanted to go waterskiing on the river, so one of the guys talked the bossman into allowing us to use his boat. We ran up and down the river for a bit and the guys wanted to fish, so they went fishing while the ladies went waterskiing. Having completely taken leave of my senses, and because I REALLY love to ski, I let one of the ladies drive the boat who'd never driven a boat before...

She ended up getting WAY too close to a small fishing boat containing a group of guys who looked like they'd stepped out of that show SWAMP PEOPLE and caused quite a ruckus, and nearly jerked my arms out of the sockets. My first thought: We are all going to die now. I yelled profuse apologies and had her head for the sandbar where we'd set up a camp of sorts.

The guys had finished fishing and wanted to take the boat out, so we ladies went for a swim. The same lady who couldn't drive a boat, couldn't swim either, but wanted to give it a shot, so we'd kept one of the life preservers for her. She was doing great until a fish swam by and tickled her foot. She jumped on my back and I thought she was going to drown me! But we got her back to shore. :)

We decided to gather wood and build a fire, and see if we could put some food together before the guys got back. We all waited by the fire..and waited..and waited... It was getting dark and COLD and the mosquitos were HORRIBLE!!! Finally, after HOURS, the guys came walking along the shoreline, PULLING the boat. They said they couldn't get the boat started. And this was before everyone had cellphones...

We all sat around the fire covered with sand to keep the mosquitos off as much as possible and tried to figure out what we should do. We knew the bossman would be looking for us, but we didn't know how to let anyone know where we were other than to build the fire.

We discussed swimming the river. Several of us were strong swimmers, but all of us had worked cases where people had got gotten too close to the barges traveling up and down the river and had been sucked under, so trying to do this IN THE DARK seemed like a VERY bad idea.

After an hour or two, we hear a voice. A familiar voice. It was the boss on the other side of the river using his car PA. He'd been traveling along the shoreline yelling for us since sunset. We yelled as loud as we could, lit some branches on fire and waved them around like crazy until we didn't hear him anymore.

About half an hour later, we were river rescued by some volunteers. The boss climbed in his boat, checked a few things...and the boat started right up so he could take it (and us) home. Apparently the guys we thought knew so much about boats had been drinking so much that they hadn't switched the gas tank over to the other tank....

The boss never let any of us ever forget that. He took us back out on his boat a time or two, but never let us borrow it again. :)

I like your story, and just wish I had something to put here, but alas my life is void of any adventures worth mentioning. The closest thing I've had to an adventure was when I got to take the controls of a single engine plane and flew it for an hour (while under the supervision of a licensed pilot of course).

Haha Jules your story is funny! Sounds like a movie...I'm glad they rescued you before you started naming your football haha. :)

The weirdest adventure I can remember is this one:

I was like 12 years old and a friend and I were in another friend's house. We were bored so we decided to egg cars outside; since we liked to play with water balloons we thought it would be probably the same (even more fun). Well we went outside, semi-hid in the corner of the street but when cars passed we got scared...we tried to throw eggs at them but none of us was actually able to do it. Finally, one of us decided to be brave, so our friend stepped up and aimed at the first car that passed...and she hit it... right in the windshield, a nice and quick shot.

We started laughing and cheering our friend's ''achievement'' but uh oh....the car stopped almost right in front of us( idk why we never considered the posibility of a car stoping after being egged). Our smiles starting vanishing as a woman was coming out of the car, VERY ANGRY....and suddenly we were running up the street trying to escape from her.
We could hear the woman yelling at us '' YOU LITTLE@"!$24 COME HERE, IM CALLING THE POLICE!''(I shouldn't repeat what she was saying:)). My heart was beating out of my chest, i continued running until i got into another street. When i stopped running i noticed one of my friends had stayed back so me and my other friend had to come back for her...it happened that when she was running she saw a dog, so she couldnt continue running in the same direction as us.

We were again in the same street as the woman, who was still waiting for us. She was talking to the neighbors probably asking questions about us since we ran away. We took advantage of that ''distraction'' and tried to sneak into our friend's house as fast as we could ... but sadly, she saw us.

We got into the house and hid in my friend's room like if the woman was coming in tolook for us there. After a few minutes we heard someone knocking on the door...it was the woman. We were SHAKING, we could picture ourselves grounded for life, or even in jail haha. After several minutes of the woman's insisting knocking we decided to open the door. She didnt yell at us (probably because she had yelled enough already) but she looked terribly angry.
We couldn't even talk properly haha, I don't even remember what we said but she said...''I'm not gonna tell your parents if you clean my car'' (among other things I cant remember).

So we ended up washing her car outside with water and soap. When we finished she said ''what about inside? it stinks horribly'' so we had to spray perfume inside too... well it was actually bathroom deodorant. Then she left after telling us not to do that again ( with a very threatening look)...and believe me, we never did it again :).

Kids are silly, arent they? Never egg a car...if you're gonna do it, do it from a safe direction.
PS.I'm kidding, don't think I support car egging :)

HAHAHA KAYEM! You little vandal! :P

There was a grouchy old lady who owned a house by our bus stop. She'd yell at us every morning to stay out of her yard. One day we noticed that they'd put down fresh sod in her yard, so that night some of us snuck over, carefully took up some of the sod and stacked it on her front porch. She heard us and called the police so we climbed the water tower and watched them look for us. They never thought to look up there. :D

I've done a lot of waterballoons and shaving cream pranks, but only one egg. I tossed it through a car window into a guy's lap.

KIDS!!! NEVER, EVER, DO THIS STUFF! IT'S VERY, VERY WRONG :D FUN, YES! BUT VERY, VERY WRONG :)

Love your story, Ms. K! You kids are too easy! lol If that happened here, the kids would just laugh at the angry lady and tell her to get lost. Something like that happened to me but it wasn't as dramatic. We threw a snowball at a car's windshield and the lady screeched to stop, came out angry and lectured me and my friends about how she and her daughter could have been KILLED. Oh really?? How many times have snowballs killed people? It was just on a small street in a subdivision where the speed limit is like 20mph.

Dianna, I'm gonna have to access my deep buried memories to come up with anything, but don't get your hopes up. I never hung out with any adventurous people.

Haha well you know how kids are Jullianna :) but you know ...I never climbed a water tower and the police never actually looked for me...we got another vandal here :D haha

yeah all those things were very very fun( but wrong sadly :))...waterballons,egging, waterguns, etc. I wish I could do that again, but I guess my punishment would be more than just threatening with calling my parents...hmm i wonder...

Well snowballs dont let your car stinking for days right? :) I understand why the lady got so mad haha besides the fact that her car looked brand new... and she was one scary lady, not one whom you could tell to get lost. If you did that today to the wrong person where i used to live you could get killed :( nowadays it's not so fun... but thats another topic :)

And Mr. Gabe I bet you have some weird adventures, at least kitten's stories or something like that hahaha.

When I was 6, we moved from New Jersey to California. The first week or so that we were there, we were staying in a hotel about 5 miles from the house that we were going to be moving into. My folks had enrolled my sister and I in the school we would be going to once we moved in, it just meant that Mom had to drive back and forth across town to drop us off and pick us up from school. In that first week, Mom ended up being a little late in picking me up from school and of course to a 6 year old, 10 minutes is an eternity. Thinking that she had forgotten, I headed off on foot back to the hotel. At the time the area was pretty rural with not much of anything between the neighborhood that I grew up in and the hotel. I made it within a half mile of the hotel before the Sheriff picked me up off the side of the highway. My folks were amazed that I remembered the directions since it involved a couple of turns at obscure intersections.
