It does not matter how much wrong you have done in your life, nor does it matter how bad you may think you have been.
The Lord is always there with open arms when you turn to Him and repent of those ways.
Remember the Lord never turns His back on us and forsakes us, the only way you can not receive salvation is if you forsake Him.....
Your sincere seeking on rather God will take you back under His grace shows that He is calling on you to come back to Him, as your heart is being tugged at by the Holy Spirit to place yourself totally in His arms !!!

Willie-T hit it right, read the story and know this the sons father didn't ask want he did while he was gone simply thru a party for his son because the father knew his son had to experience what his son did to make him a stronger person in life. Don't be ashamed of things you've done, we all have fell short in one way or another. You believe in him and his ways that's all that matters to him. the preachers you have seen who talk this stuff are the other brother who never left home.
Jere, If you have asked for forgiveness as per 1 John 1:9 - then you are forgiven and cleansed from all unrighteousness. We tend to be harder on ourselves for things we have done than God is -- God understands our fallen nature. When we ask God for forgiveness - and He cleanses us - God forgets. He wipes the slate clean . . . Our problem is that we tend to hold on to the discouragement and shame that we feel. It is easy to be forgiven by God when we humble ourselves and just come clean with Him. He knows our struggles, He knows our faults and weaknesses - He knows our hearts and it is God's nature to forgive us. God casts those sins that you have asked forgiveness for - as far as the east is from the west.
Psalm 103:11-14 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
So - let up on the discouragement and the shame, knowing that God loves you and will accept you back with open arms. Each day is a new day, a new beginning . . .

Jere, the consequences of sin are that you have to confess and repent of them. That's all God asks, that we lay our dirty laundry before Him and acknowledge it. Then as far as He's concerned it's a forgiven deal. The problem is that we humans tend to hang onto it anyway. Once you confess and repent, any guilt you may feel comes from the enemy, not the Holy Spirit. And really that's what this is all about. Once you submit to a spiritual authority in sin you're submitted to a spiritual authority in sin - until you confess and repent of it before God. Once we lay these things into His hands, we regain authority in Christ to turn them away.

We've been through this before with you about two months ago in a different thread about your past. If you're really hurting then you need to embrace the fact that there's nothing you can ever do that will make God stop loving you. And the grace we have in Jesus Christ goes eternally beyond our shortfalls and mistakes.

If the Lord God called you and opened your spiritual eyes to Himself, good luck trying to get away from Him!! It's impossible. Because nothing can ever separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

this is so true the words I quoted but the problem is we can confess all day long with God on our dirty laundry and he listens and forgives us even before we speak our minds to him. because he already knows what we do yesterday today and tomorrow. Gods words (I am the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end) you see it's important to confess our dirty laundry etc.. with another person to really get it off our chest and not let the demons create something in our heads that's not real or true. It is fear that drives us to keep it to ourselves we can become scared of rejections, loosing friends family whole list of things. once we are bold enough to share our testimony with another we are truly freeing ourselves. And it doesn't have a hold on us anymore we can move forward in life and one day forget all about it or at least feel comfortable in our own skin. because we freed ourself and God wants us to share with another person because maybe that person has been scared shy to talk also. Sharing life short falls with others is important once I held something in for 15 years samething I was scared etc also. I told my mother my testimony and she was the first I told and at my amazement she started crying really hard I was so sad I thought I Shouldnt have my heart was beating but she told me a testimony of hers she had held in for over 35 years and she thank me for being so open that give her the ability to be bold too and I was the first she had told anyone not even my father. I was blown away indeed. You see we have to talk to each other share testimony's so someone doesn't go through there whole life hiding inside it is very damaging to our minds. Some would say these sites aren't places to do that but there's people in this world who have no one to talk to except brothers and sisters like us who are willing to be a shoulder to lean on.. A double edge sword indeed We can hurt our selves and others by doing this but there's a lesson good or bad to be learned in all we do. I truly believe that God has a lesson about life for us in everything we do in life some written in scripture some not. Sometimes the timing is right on some times it not its about exceptness I can except you for who you are can you except me for who I am good or bad for better or worse. maybe we all can grow some and learn together how to be true brothers and sisters the more we talk to each other even with the people that persecute us or we persecute them.
P.S. sorry Rick I was only quoting your words because my heart needed to share something about what God has taught me about confessing only a personal example from me..... I surely do agree with your whole statement Amen

This has always been god's philosophy:
"God forgives if we repent"
That simple, you can always be forgiven if you confess your sins, deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow Him.

"The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God." Ps 51:17

You might want to be careful how you express that. As I recall, the repentance of the other party is not a prerequisite to our forgiving..... nor did Jesus ask The Father to forgive His murderers IF they earned that forgiveness by doing a proper and demonstrative enough a job of showing repentance.
In the Prodigal Son parable, the father is a representation of God, and He ran to His son, kissing and hugging him before the boy could utter even one syllable of the rehearsed speech he had practiced........ the one he hoped would convince his father to hire him as a farm worker.

Yes, even a troll wouldn't keep coming back if he was not still hoping to somehow be shown that God's way is the right way.... and there is still a chance for him.

So, yeah, your heart is not hardened. It doesn´t matter what you did, it doens´t matter how much you´ve sinned. All it matters is this: if you truly repent and ask for forgiveness, you´ll be forgiven. Seek Jesus, commit yourself to Him and accept Him as your Saviour! Will pray for you, brother.
