It's very naive to think the USA or the world for that matter will last that long but I do admire your optimism

Trump is trying to get four more years in the White House, but will he stand down come January 2029?
Very good question. I really like the guy and everything he does or seems to try to do. What alarms me is that he seems too good to be true (especially considering he appeared to be a Democrat in times past).

The undertones made by some comparing him to a saviour figure are worrisome. However, I would vote for Trump before I voted for any of the others, because he doesn't unnecessarily complicate issues or pretend they don't exist - he's not a politician, and doesn't play their deceitful games - at least, not so much with the people. If he isn't some sort of fulfillment of biblical prophecy, I'm confident he will stand down when his time is up.

One of the reasons to support him. He's not a career politician, and by all appearances, is a bonafide patriot.... which is more than I can say for so many in Washington.

Yeah.... this question was ridiculous. Shows how so many are duped by the so-called mainstream news, or are more impressed by style than substance.
and it is sad that the media lies at such a high level, sad.

I dont think they will let Trump back in. I'm sure Biden will get back in.

Over the years I've learned that US politics is like watching wrestling. You've got Hulk Hogan on one side and Macho Man on the other and at the end of the day both go out to dinner together.

This is why I believe Trump will be back, rather than dead (but perhaps both? It certainly would make for a better show). But I totally agree that we're watching a movie - politics is mostly like wrestling. Probably wrestlers weren't drawn from the most morally depraved of mankind, though.

He doesn't have to.

He could run again and serve a grand total of 12 years. Because his first term ended and Biden won the election.

There is no law stopping Trump from doing anything that he wishes to do.

Incorrect. Since Roosevelt, nobody can serve more than two terms, even if they are not consecutive. 22nd amendment.

Text. Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

For some reason I thought that they had to be consecutive terms....

Huh....OK.

Oh well....
Maybe he will go away after this.

I didn't realize that if a president is disabled in some way, and the VP has to become president, that if he is in that role more than 2 years, that counts as one full term, and he/she can only run for one more term.

When Pres Trump does "go away", I pray there is someone ready to step into that role that has the same political beliefs as him. Someone that is less abrasive. Ramaswamy (sp?) might be just that person.
I think Trump should have him as his VP. Trump is no spring chicken, and if he did have some type of medical issue, then Vivek would become president, and would be a shoo-in for the next election.

Hmmm, would it be worth it? An extra term of Trump, for Leftist heads all across America to explode? Lol. Definitely! :p
