I came across this quote the other dayfrom William Booth's last public address.
“While Women weep, as they do now, I’ll fight; while children go hungry, as they do now I’ll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I’ll fight; while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll fight, I’ll fight to the very end!”
This he did until the last moment of his life. He cried out for souls of the lost. He coined the phase "Soup, Soap, and Salvation." Refuse and rotten veggies were often thrown at him and his companions as they went through the streets serving the poor and reaching the lost.
Do we fight we fight for cause of the lost? Do spend nights in anguish in prayer for our unsaved friends, coworkers and neighbors? When was the last time you wept at the alter for God come change our community? Will we fight again?
