Win the temptations, tribulations and probations understanding the fear of the Lord and, thus, be perfect before Jesus!
Many times we think that knowledge and understanding comes with study. Nonetheless, what does the Holy Scripture say?
As we can see, the true wisdom is from above, coming down from the Father of lights (James 1.17). James is clear:
Come the question: why, many times, we ask Jesus for wisdom and we don’t receive?
Simple: His wisdom is granted for someone that desire, not only to fear the Creator, but to understand His fear (Proverbs 2.5).
And why is this so important? See the previous verses of James 1.5:
If we yearn for being saved, we need to be perfect and entire, lacking nothing (Leviticus 20.7; Matthew 5.48; 1Peter 1.16). But, for this, we need to be more than conquerors in all temptations (Romans 8.37; Revelation 2.7,11,17,26; 3.5,12,21), inasmuch as it is the proof of our faith that exercise our patience. Hence the proofs to be more precious than the precious gold (1Peter 1.6,7).
So, let’s seek wisdom to understand the fear of the Creator and have a splendid day suffering the afflictions as good soldiers of Jesus Christ (2Timothy 2.3), certain of that it is this that will increase the value both of us and of the reward that Jesus has for us now and in the eternal life (Romans 8.18-22; 2Corinthians 7.9,10).
